MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 9,623 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 895 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A321 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, taking approximately 9 minutes and covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 01R, with a takeoff distance of 6,209 feet, which accounted for 59% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 178 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of 90°F temperature and a wind speed of 0 knots at 180 degrees. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Madhyamgram in West Bengal, India, and reaching an altitude of 21,524 feet above sea level in 11 minutes, covering a distance of 63 nautical miles. The climb from 1,025 feet to 21,524 feet was an increase of 20,500 feet.
The aircraft then entered a level cruise, starting 3 miles north of Katoya in West Bengal, India, and lasting for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 26 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb, starting 6 miles northeast of Sainthia in West Bengal, India, and reaching an altitude of 34,114 feet above sea level in 9 minutes, covering a distance of 65 nautical miles. The climb from 21,500 feet to 34,114 feet was an increase of 12,614 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 6 miles south of Banka in the State of Bihar, India, and lasting for 13 minutes, covering a distance of 98 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 4 miles southwest of Darbhanga in the State of Bihar, India, and reaching an altitude of 6,504 feet above sea level in 19 minutes, covering a distance of 98 nautical miles. The descent from 34,629 feet to 6,504 feet was a decrease of 28,125 feet.
The aircraft then began another climb, starting overhead VNKT Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, and reaching an altitude of 7,006 feet above sea level in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles. The climb from 6,529 feet to 7,006 feet was an increase of 477 feet. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 2 miles west of Kathmandu, Nepal, and reaching an altitude of 4,679 feet above sea level in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 02 at VNKT Tribhuvan International Airport, heading 23.0 degrees at 1 nautical mile and 311 feet above ground level. The aircraft landed on runway 02, which had a length of 9,623 feet. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 134 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 894 feet, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 131 knots. The touchdown rate was firm at -352 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 72°F temperature and a wind speed of 3 knots at 10 degrees. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the headwind was 3 knots. The total landing distance was 4,643 feet, which accounted for 48% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking area from the runway, taking approximately 2 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 364 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 72 minutes. The aircraft used 6,298 pounds
The Airbus A321 successfully landed at VNKT Tribhuvan International Airport, achieving a high score of 98.2%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading 23.0° at a distance of 1 nautical mile and an altitude of 311 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with precision, and the aircraft landed safely on runway 02, which has a length of 9,623 feet.
The threshold height was good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct altitude as it approached the runway. The threshold speed of 134 knots was also within the acceptable range, demonstrating the pilot's ability to manage the aircraft's speed during the landing phase. The touchdown distance of 894 feet was also good, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down within a safe distance from the runway threshold.
However, the touchdown speed of 131 knots was slightly faster than the recommended speed, which may have resulted in a firmer touchdown rate of -352 feet per minute (fpm). Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline.
The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 72°F and a gentle wind of 3 knots at 10°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 3 knots, which helped to stabilize the aircraft during the landing phase. The total landing distance of 4,643 feet was 48% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight.
The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline after touchdown. Overall, the landing was executed with precision and control, and the aircraft was able to come to a stop within a safe distance from the runway threshold.
