MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,521 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,521 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 161 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing Jack Northrop Field Hawthorne Municipal Airport (KHHR), the aircraft began its takeoff roll on runway 25. With a local temperature of 19 °C and a 6 kt headwind, the aircraft accelerated to liftoff speed of 123 kt, achieving liftoff in a distance of 612 m, which was 57% of the runway length. Following a smooth departure, the aircraft transitioned into the enroute climb phase, ascending from 1,102 ft above sea level to 16,598 ft above sea level in 9 minutes, covering a distance of 48 nm.
The enroute climb phase was punctuated by several level cruise segments, with the first occurring 4 miles north of Foothill Ranch, California, lasting 2 minutes and covering 12 nm. The second level cruise segment started 9 miles south of 72CL Iron Mountain Pumping Plant Airport Desert Center, California, and lasted for 166 minutes, covering a significant distance of 1,383 nm. The aircraft then began its descent from 43,828 ft above sea level to 6,007 ft above sea level in 17 minutes, covering 117 nm. The final descent phase started 1 mile south of Euharlee, Georgia, and lasted 5 minutes, covering 24 nm. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 21L at DeKalb Peachtree Airport (KPDK), aligning with the runway at 4 nm and 1,283 ft above ground level.
The aircraft landed on runway 21L, with a touchdown distance of 160 m, which was within acceptable limits. However, the touchdown speed of 104 kt was slightly above the recommended threshold speed of 108 kt, resulting in a hard touchdown rate of -446 fpm. The runway touchdown position was also misaligned by 13.4 m from the centreline. Following a smooth rollout, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, completing a total flight distance of 1,737 nm in 230 minutes, with a fuel consumption of 3,231 kg.
The final approach to runway 21L at KPDK DeKalb Peachtree Airport from the north was conducted in good conditions, with a heading of 201.0° at 4 nm and 1,283 ft above ground level. The aircraft maintained a stable approach path, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 108 kt, well within the acceptable range. The pilot's control of the aircraft during the approach was satisfactory, with a touchdown distance of 160 m, which was within the expected parameters.
However, the touchdown characteristics were not ideal, with a touchdown speed of 104 kt, slightly above the recommended value. The resulting touchdown rate was hard, at -446 fpm, indicating a possible loss of control during the landing. Additionally, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 13.4 m from the centreline, which may have contributed to the hard touchdown. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 29 °C and a light headwind of 2 kt, did not pose any significant challenges to the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,027 m was 67% of the runway length, which was acceptable. However, the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 19.5 m from the centreline, indicating a possible deviation from the desired path. Overall, the landing was scored 88.5%, reflecting the satisfactory approach and touchdown distance, but the hard touchdown rate and misaligned touchdown and rollout positions detracted from the performance.
