Tidy the taxi
It is very easy to taxi too fast when your field of view is limited by the monitor and the body doesn't experience the aircraft movement. Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The real technique is to slow before the turn, then turn at steady speed, not enter fast and reduce the speed with the brakes mid-arc.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,880 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,880 m of the 3,589 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 717 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took 6 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 06 at LIRN Naples International Airport. The takeoff distance was 832 meters, which accounted for 41% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 152 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 13 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 3 knots from a direction of 359 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 2 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, which started overhead San Pietro a Patierno in Campania, Italy. The climb took 22 minutes and covered a distance of 121 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,248 feet above sea level to 35,308 feet above sea level, an increase of 34,059 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which began 29 miles southwest of Komiza in Split-Dalmatia, Croatia. This phase lasted for 576 minutes and covered a distance of 487 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent, which began 1 mile south of Naila in Bavaria, Germany. The descent took 23 minutes and covered a distance of 72 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 36,314 feet above sea level to 1,868 feet above sea level, a decrease of 34,446 feet.
The final approach to runway 26L at EDDP Leipzig/Halle Airport was made from the east, with a heading of 265.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,416 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 26L, which had a length of 3,589 meters. The threshold height at 60 feet above ground level was slightly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 144 knots. The touchdown point was 302 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 135 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was also good at -162 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -1 degree Celsius and a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 50 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 4 knots and a tailwind of 5 knots. The total landing distance was 1,801 meters, which accounted for 50% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking area took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 688 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 118 minutes. The aircraft used 5,284 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at EDDP Leipzig/Halle Airport, achieving a score of 91.5%. The final approach to runway 26L was initiated from the east, heading 265.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,416 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft's approach to the runway was characterized by a threshold height that was slightly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 144 knots. This indicates that the pilot maintained control and managed the aircraft's descent effectively. The touchdown point was 302 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation from the ideal landing spot.
The touchdown speed of 135 knots was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -162 feet per minute (fpm) was also good, indicating a smooth and controlled landing. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's skill and attention to detail.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of -1°C and a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 50°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, and the tailwind component was 5 knots, which is a relatively minor influence on the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,801 meters was 50% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft touched down and came to a stop within a reasonable distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the landing roll.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot demonstrated good skills and judgment in managing the aircraft's approach and landing. However, there is room for improvement in terms of achieving a more precise touchdown point and maintaining a more consistent approach speed.
