MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,134 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,134 ft of the 10,617 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,537 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 17 at LATI Tirana International Airport Mother Teresa. The takeoff distance was 3,706 feet, which accounted for 41% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 156 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 62°F and a wind speed of 10 knots at 160°.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb overhead LATI Tirana International Airport Mother Teresa Rinas, located in Tirana, Albania. The climb took 17 minutes and covered 87 nautical miles, with the aircraft rising from an altitude of 1,146 feet above sea level to 39,726 feet above sea level, an increase of 38,580 feet. The enroute level cruise then began 8 miles north of Risan, located in Kotor, Montenegro, and lasted for 49 minutes, covering 371 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started overhead Novaledo, located in Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy, and took 27 minutes to complete, covering 141 nautical miles. The descent was from an altitude of 39,499 feet above sea level to 2,639 feet above sea level, a decrease of 36,860 feet. The final approach to runway 34 at LSZH Zürich Airport was made from the southeast, heading 335.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,229 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 34 at LSZH Zürich Airport was successful, with a touchdown point 165 feet beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 117 knots, which was good, and the touchdown rate was fair at -266 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 45°F and a wind speed of 3 knots at 261°.
The total landing distance was 4,862 feet, which accounted for 46% of the runway. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 606 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 104 minutes. The aircraft used 8,252 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at Zürich Airport (LSZH) on runway 34, achieving a high score of 98.8%. The final approach was conducted from the south east, heading 335.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,229 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, indicating a stable and controlled descent.
Upon touchdown, the threshold speed was recorded at 127 knots, which is within the acceptable range. The touchdown point was located 165 feet beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. The touchdown speed of 117 knots was also within the acceptable range, indicating a smooth and controlled landing. However, the touchdown rate of -266 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair, suggesting that the aircraft could have been brought down more smoothly.
The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 45°F and a wind speed of 3 knots from 261°. The crosswind component was 3 knots, while the headwind component was 1 knot. These conditions did not appear to have a significant impact on the landing.
The total landing distance was 4,862 feet, which is 46% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was brought down smoothly and efficiently. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, suggesting that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating good control and stability throughout the approach and landing phases.
