MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 6,523 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 6,523 ft of the 11,316 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,650 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Princess Juliana International Airport (TNCM) on runway 10, the Airbus A321 began its takeoff roll, accelerating to a liftoff speed of 165 kt. The aircraft utilized 75% of the 7,500 ft runway, covering a distance of 5,620 ft. Local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 87 °F, with a gentle wind of 3 kt at 150 °, resulting in a negligible crosswind component.
As the aircraft climbed out of the Caribbean, it transitioned into a steady enroute climb, reaching an altitude of 31,569 ft in 29 minutes, covering a distance of 188 nm. The climb phase was characterized by a significant increase in altitude, with a total ascent of 30,328 ft. Following a brief level cruise phase, the aircraft began its enroute descent, reducing altitude from 31,984 ft to 3,889 ft in 18 minutes, covering 100 nm. The descent phase was followed by a short level cruise segment, before the aircraft initiated its final descent into Miami International Airport (KMIA). The approach was executed from the west, with the aircraft aligning perfectly with the runway 09 threshold.
The Airbus A321 touched down on runway 09 at KMIA, with a touchdown point located 1,290 ft beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed of 138 kt was slightly above the target, but the touchdown rate of -56 fpm was excellent. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also satisfactory. The total landing distance of 6,263 ft represented 55% of the 11,316 ft runway. Following a short taxiing period, the aircraft arrived at the parking area, having completed a total flight distance of 1,121 nm, utilizing 20,876 lbs of fuel in the process. The flight duration was 179 minutes.
The aircraft touched down on runway 09 at KMIA Miami International Airport with a satisfactory approach quality, characterized by a good threshold height. The threshold speed of 151 kt was slightly above the target, indicating a slight over-rotation during the flare. The touchdown point was located 1,290 ft beyond the touchdown zone, which is within acceptable limits.
The touchdown speed of 138 kt was a little fast, but the touchdown rate of -56 fpm was excellent, demonstrating good control and precision during the landing. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft centered on the runway. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 72 °F and a light headwind of 2 kt, contributed to a smooth and stable approach.
The total landing distance of 6,263 ft was 55% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, with the aircraft maintaining its centerline alignment throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was satisfactory, with a score of 96.0%, indicating a high level of proficiency and control during the approach, touchdown, and rollout phases.
