MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Tidy the taxi
Sim pilots taxi too fast and are certain they do not. Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. Turn speed is limited by lateral load on the tyres and the people in the back, and lateral acceleration goes with the square of speed. On an illustrative 25 m turn radius, 10 kt produces about 0.11 g of side load, while 20 kt produces about 0.43 g. The real technique is slow before the turn, then turn at steady speed, not enter fast and trim the speed with the brakes mid-arc.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,583 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 575 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took 4 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-600, then departed from runway 23L at KGSO Piedmont Triad International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,161 meters, which accounted for 38% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 146 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 21 degrees Celsius and winds of 10 knots at 179 degrees. The crosswind was 7 knots, and the headwind was also 7 knots. After departing from KGSO, the aircraft began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport and took the aircraft from 1,927 feet above sea level to 39,034 feet above sea level, an increase of 37,106 feet in 29 minutes and covering a distance of 220 nautical miles.
The enroute climb was followed by a level cruise, which started 1 mile east of Huntingtown, Maryland, and lasted for 98 minutes, covering a distance of 944 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 38 miles southwest of Burgeo, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The descent took the aircraft from 39,203 feet above sea level to 1,762 feet above sea level, a decrease of 37,441 feet in 11 minutes and covering a distance of 215 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 11 at CYYT St. John's International Airport was made from the west, heading 86.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,302 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 11, which had a length of 2,583 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 134 knots. However, the touchdown speed was a little fast at 126 knots, and the touchdown rate was good at -199 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of -7 degrees Celsius and winds of 2 knots at 280 degrees, with a crosswind of 0 knots and a tailwind of 2 knots. The total landing distance was 1,313 meters, which accounted for 51% of the runway. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking area took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
Overall, the flight covered a total distance of 1,387 nautical miles and took 146 minutes, using 7,680 kilograms of fuel.
The Boeing 737-600 aircraft successfully landed at St. John's International Airport (CYYT) with a high score of 98.4%. The final approach to runway 11 was initiated from the west, with a heading of 86.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,302 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, indicating a stable and controlled descent.
Upon touchdown, the threshold speed was recorded at 134 knots, which is within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown speed of 126 knots was slightly faster than desired, suggesting that the pilot may have applied a bit more flare than necessary. The touchdown rate of -199 feet per minute (fpm) was still considered good, indicating a relatively smooth and controlled touchdown.
The touchdown point was located 157 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline at touchdown. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -7°C and a wind speed of 2 knots from a direction of 280°. The crosswind component was negligible, while the tailwind component was 2 knots, which may have contributed to the slightly faster touchdown speed.
The total landing distance of 1,313 meters was 51% of the available runway length, which is a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft touching down smoothly and coming to a stop in a controlled manner.
