Tidy the taxi
It is very easy to taxi too fast when your field of view is limited by the monitor and the body doesn't experience the aircraft movement. Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The real technique is to slow before the turn, then turn at steady speed, not enter fast and reduce the speed with the brakes mid-arc.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,882 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 371 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Cologne Bonn Airport, the Airbus A321 began its journey on runway 31R, taking off with a liftoff speed of 154 kt after a 2,595 m takeoff distance, which covered 68% of the runway. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 15 °C and a gentle wind of 3 kt at 59 °, resulting in a negligible tailwind component.
As the aircraft climbed to its enroute cruise altitude, it traversed a distance of 86 nm in 15 minutes, reaching an altitude of 32,009 ft asl. The climb phase was followed by a 16-minute level cruise, during which the aircraft covered 101 nm. The descent phase commenced 21 miles northwest of Bray-Dunes, France, and lasted 13 minutes, with the aircraft descending from 31,250 ft asl to 7,354 ft asl. The final descent phase started 1 mile north of Northiam, England, and lasted 8 minutes, with the aircraft descending from 7,008 ft asl to 1,550 ft asl. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 26L at London Gatwick Airport, touching down with a touchdown speed of 129 kt and a touchdown distance of 382 m.
The landing was completed with a total landing distance of 1,352 m, which accounted for 54% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the aircraft was taxied to the parking area in 7 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nm. The total flight distance was 300 nm, and the flight duration was 69 minutes, with a fuel consumption of 2,875 kg.
The final approach to runway 26L at EGKK London Gatwick Airport from the east was executed with good quality, with the aircraft maintaining a steady heading of 258.0° at 4 nm and 1,329 ft above ground level. The approach was conducted in a 1,329 ft height above the threshold, which was considered good. The threshold speed of 135 kt was slightly above the target, indicating a slight increase in power application during the final stages of the approach.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed of 129 kt was a little fast, resulting in a fair touchdown rate of -220 fpm. The touchdown distance of 382 m was good, indicating a well-controlled descent. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.7 m from the centreline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the approach path. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 11 °C and a wind of 5 kt at 190°, contributed to a crosswind of 5 kt and a headwind of 2 kt.
The total landing distance of 1,352 m, which accounted for 54% of the runway length, was within acceptable limits. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating a smooth and controlled deceleration of the aircraft. Overall, the landing was considered to be of high quality, with a score of 98.7% reflecting the minor deviations from the ideal approach and touchdown characteristics.
