Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,580 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 515 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took 14 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300, then departed from runway 01 at GVAC Amílcar Cabral International Airport. The takeoff distance was 981 meters, which was 33% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 165 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 23°C temperature and winds of 9 knots at 50°. The crosswind was 7 knots, while the headwind was 6 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Espargos in the Sal Municipality of Cape Verde. It climbed from 1,094 feet above sea level to 35,000 feet, an increase of 33,906 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 108 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started at a latitude of 18.4366107 and a longitude of -22.2053867, lasting 25 minutes and covering 201 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb, this time from 35,154 feet to 36,151 feet, an increase of 997 feet in 2 minutes, covering 18 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise resumed at a latitude of 22.0438035 and a longitude of -21.5223136, lasting 167 minutes and covering 1,304 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began another climb, this time from 36,498 feet to 38,496 feet, an increase of 1,998 feet in 4 minutes, covering 35 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started 48 miles southwest of Santa Uxia de Ribeira in Galicia, Spain, and lasted 74 minutes, covering 592 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent, starting 2 miles east of Burton Bradstock in Dorset, England. The descent from 38,795 feet to 9,113 feet, a decrease of 29,681 feet in 16 minutes, covered a distance of 105 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another level cruise, lasting 4 minutes and covering 19 nautical miles.
The enroute descent resumed overhead Lubenham in Leicestershire, England, with the aircraft descending from 8,815 feet to 2,708 feet, a decrease of 6,107 feet in 4 minutes, covering 17 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another level cruise, lasting 3 minutes and covering 7 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 27 at EGNX East Midlands Airport was from the east, heading 268.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,253 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 27 was successful, with the touchdown point being 94 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was a little fast at 138 knots, but the touchdown rate was smooth at -134 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 0°C temperature and winds of 2 knots at 300°. The crosswind was 1 knot, while the headwind was 1 knot. The total landing distance was 1,418 meters, which was 55% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect.
The total flight distance was 2,414 nautical miles, taking 329 minutes and using 39,186 kilograms of fuel.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at East Midlands Airport (EGNX) on runway 27, achieving a score of 99.1%. The final approach was conducted from the east, heading 268.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,253 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was characterized by a good threshold height, indicating that the pilots maintained a stable and controlled descent.
Upon touchdown, the threshold speed was recorded at 146 knots, which is within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown speed of 138 knots was slightly faster than desired, suggesting that the pilots may have been able to maintain a more controlled descent. The touchdown rate of -134 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, indicating that the aircraft's wheels made contact with the runway with minimal impact.
The runway touchdown alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilots maintained a precise and controlled approach. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 0°C, a wind speed of 2 knots from 300°, and a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 1 knot. These conditions likely contributed to the smooth and controlled nature of the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,418 meters was 55% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilots maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and brought it to a stop in a safe and controlled manner. Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilots demonstrating a high level of skill and proficiency in executing a precise and controlled approach and landing.
