Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 11,988 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,724 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-700, then departed from runway 13L at KDAL Dallas Love Field. The takeoff distance was 4,733 feet, which accounted for 64% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 149 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 9 knots from a direction of 180 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 7 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile southwest of University Park, Texas. The climb took 16 minutes and covered a distance of 108 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,541 feet above sea level to 35,171 feet above sea level, an increase of 33,630 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 3 miles north of the 3TS0 East Side Airport in Longview, Texas. This phase lasted for 36 minutes and covered a distance of 321 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 7 miles west of the 22MS Sky Landings Airport in Lucedale, Mississippi. The descent took 21 minutes and covered a distance of 128 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 35,277 feet above sea level to 3,016 feet above sea level, a decrease of 32,260 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 3 miles southeast of Miramar Beach, Florida. This phase lasted for only 2 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 1 mile northeast of Miramar Beach. The descent took 3 minutes and covered a distance of 7 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 2,929 feet above sea level to 1,159 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,770 feet.
The final approach to runway 30 at KVPS Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport was made from the southeast, with the aircraft heading 300.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,056 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 30, which had a length of 11,988 feet. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed at 137 knots.
The touchdown point was 342 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 126 knots, which was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate was good at -188 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 52 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 3 knots from a direction of 300 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 0 knots and a headwind of 3 knots.
The total landing distance was 3,780 feet, which accounted for 32% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 576 nautical miles, and the flight took 99 minutes. The aircraft used 8,121 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-700 aircraft successfully landed at Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport, with a final approach score of 99.1%. The aircraft was approaching runway 30 from the southeast, heading 300.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,056 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot maintained a good threshold height, which is a crucial aspect of a safe landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 137 knots. However, the touchdown speed of 126 knots was a bit faster than desired. Despite this, the touchdown rate of -188 feet per minute (fpm) was considered good, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, which is essential for a smooth landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 52°F and a gentle wind of 3 knots from 300°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind and a 3-knot headwind, which did not significantly impact the landing. The total landing distance of 3,780 feet was 32% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll.
The runway rollout alignment was perfect, which is a testament to the pilot's skill and control during the landing. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft touching down safely and rolling out smoothly on the runway.
