MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,820 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,820 m of the 3,200 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,106 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A380-800 taxied from its parking position to runway 07 at Tenerife Sur Airport (GCTS) in 15 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nm.
The aircraft commenced its departure roll on runway 07, using a take-off distance of 2,096 m (66 % of the runway) and achieving a liftoff speed of 160 kt. Local weather at the time was 18 °C with a wind of 2 kt from 269 °, a crosswind component of 1 kt and a tailwind component of 2 kt.
Climb began overhead El Medano, rising from 1,214 ft asl to 40,001 ft asl - an increase of 38,787 ft - in 29 minutes while covering 212 nm.
The first cruise segment started 91 miles south east of Canico, lasting 164 minutes and traversing 1,346 nm.
Descent commenced 1 mile north west of Foret-la-Folie, descending from 40,000 ft asl to 29,532 ft asl - a loss of 10,469 ft - in 4 minutes and covering 34 nm.
A brief cruise followed overhead Fontaine-Bonneleau, lasting 2 minutes and covering 13 nm.
The next descent segment started over Fouencamps, dropping from 28,759 ft asl to 5,005 ft asl - a decrease of 23,754 ft - in 13 minutes while traveling 78 nm.
A short cruise then proceeded over Brakel for 5 minutes, covering 21 nm.
Descent resumed 2 miles north of Merchtem, falling from 4,475 ft asl to 2,996 ft asl - a loss of 1,479 ft - in 2 minutes and spanning 6 nm.
A further cruise segment over Heffen lasted 2 minutes and covered 6 nm.
Descent continued overhead Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Waver, descending from 3,000 ft asl to 2,041 ft asl - a reduction of 959 ft - in 2 minutes and covering 6 nm.
The final cruise phase was over Heist-op-den-Berg, lasting 7 minutes and covering 18 nm.
During the final approach to runway 25L at Brussels Airport (EBBR), the aircraft descended from 1,334 ft agl to 56 ft agl in 101 seconds and was recorded as having scored on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 25L, which is 3,200 m long, the threshold height at 76 ft agl was above target and the threshold speed was slightly above target at 138 kt. Touchdown occurred 685 m beyond the touchdown zone with a speed of 113 kt and a touchdown rate of minus 273 fpm; the touchdown point was misaligned by 9.9 m from the centreline. Local weather was 15 °C with a wind of 2 kt from 270 °, a crosswind of 1 kt and a headwind component of 2 kt. Total landing distance measured 1,734 m (54 % of the runway) and rollout alignment was off by 9.4 m from the centreline.
In total, the flight covered 1,751 nm, lasted 248 minutes, and consumed 4,427 kg of fuel.
The Airbus A380-800 executed a stabilised approach at the 1,000 ft gate to runway 25L at EBBR Brussels Airport, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope, centreline and speed all within limits. The aircraft descended from 1,334 ft agl to 56 ft agl in 101 seconds, and the local weather was 15 °C with wind 2 kt from 270°, including a 1 kt cross-wind and a 2 kt head-wind.
At threshold the height of 76 ft agl was reported as well above target and the threshold speed of 138 kt was slightly above target.
Touchdown occurred 685 m beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 113 kt described as good and a touchdown rate fair at -273 fpm. The touchdown point was misaligned by 9.9 m from the centreline.
The aircraft rolled out over a total landing distance of 1,734 m, representing 54 % of the 3,200 m runway, and the rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.4 m from the centreline.
To refine the performance, aim to achieve touchdown nearer the intended 300 m aim point to reduce the 685 m overshoot and concentrate on tighter centreline alignment at touchdown and during rollout. This will help conserve runway and improve overall precision while maintaining the current good speed and rate figures.
