Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,335 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 402 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A320, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at NSTU Pago Pago International Airport. This process took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 05, and the takeoff distance was 1,258 meters, which is 50% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 151 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 31 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 4 knots at 330 degrees. The crosswind was 4 knots, and the headwind was 0 knots. After departing from Pago Pago, the enroute climb started 1 mile northeast of the airport, with the aircraft climbing from 1,099 feet above sea level to 26,885 feet above sea level. This increase in altitude of 25,786 feet was achieved in 15 minutes, covering a distance of 94 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise phase began at a specific location with coordinates Latitude: -15.8947797 and Longitude: -170.4265988, and lasted for 13 minutes, covering a distance of 99 nautical miles. The enroute descent phase started at a different location with coordinates Latitude: -17.5529778 and Longitude: -170.1752854, and the aircraft descended from 26,900 feet above sea level to 1,496 feet above sea level. This decrease in altitude of 25,404 feet was achieved in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 91 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 10 at NIUE Niue International Airport was made from the west, with the aircraft heading 109.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,288 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing took place on runway 10, which has a length of 2,335 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 137 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 404 meters, and the touchdown speed was 130 knots, which was also good. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -206 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 27 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 2 knots at 149 degrees. The crosswind was 2 knots, and the headwind was 2 knots. The total landing distance was 1,218 meters, which is 52% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. After landing, the aircraft taxiing to the parking area took 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 292 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 56 minutes. The aircraft used 2,370 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at NIUE Niue International Airport, achieving a score of 99.8%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 109.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,288 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with precision, and the aircraft landed safely on runway 10, which has a length of 2,335 meters.
The threshold height was good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct altitude as it approached the runway. The threshold speed of 137 knots was also within the acceptable range, demonstrating the pilot's ability to manage the aircraft's speed during the landing phase. The touchdown distance of 404 meters was also good, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down within a safe distance from the runway threshold.
The touchdown speed of 130 knots was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -206 feet per minute (fpm) was fair. However, it is worth noting that a touchdown rate of -206 fpm is slightly higher than the ideal rate, which may indicate some minor issues with the aircraft's descent or the pilot's control of the aircraft during the landing phase.
The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown. This is an important factor in ensuring a safe and controlled landing. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 27°C and a wind speed of 2 knots from 149°. The crosswind and headwind components were both 2 knots, which is relatively minimal and should not have had a significant impact on the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,218 meters was 52% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. This indicates that the aircraft was able to stop quickly and safely after touchdown. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain its alignment with the runway centerline during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was executed with precision and control, and the aircraft was able to touch down safely on the runway. The score of 99.8% reflects the high level of proficiency demonstrated by the pilot and the aircraft's performance during the landing phase.
