Flight Score
Improve the touchdown
There are several things that can go wrong during the flare, carrying too much speed over the threshold, starting the flare at the wrong height and inconsistent flight control inputs, all contribute to a poor flare resulting in a hard touchdown or a float down the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 1,000 ft gate: speed 53 kt FAST on the reference speed of 130 kt.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,485 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 217 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 737-700 taxied from the parking area to runway 27L at LFPG Charles de Gaulle International Airport in 4 minutes, covering a distance of 1 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 27L, the aircraft used 642 m of runway, representing 18 % of the available length, and lifted off at 144 kt; ambient temperature was 21 °C with a wind of 4 kt from 10°, a 3 kt crosswind component and a 1 kt tailwind.
Climb commenced overhead LFPG, ascending from 1,333 ft asl to 40,995 ft asl, an increase of 39,661 ft achieved in 46 minutes while covering 371 nm.
Cruise began 76 miles north of Schiermonnikoog (Provincie Friesland, The Netherlands) and continued for 89 minutes, during which the aircraft flew 780 nm at level altitude.
Descent was initiated 2 miles south-west of Hemmingsmark (Norrbotten County, Sweden), descending from 40,990 ft asl to 2,116 ft asl, a loss of 38,874 ft in 23 minutes and traversing 175 nm.
The final approach to runway 34 at EFKT Kittilä Airport involved a descent from 1,519 ft agl to 52 ft agl in 84 seconds and was scored on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 34 was executed with a threshold speed of 125 kt, touchdown occurring 219 m down the runway at 120 kt, and a firm touchdown rate of minus 396 fpm; runway length is 2,485 m, the total landing distance was 725 m (29 % of runway), and runway touchdown alignment was perfect. Local weather reported a temperature of 12 °C, wind 4 kt from 169°, with a 0 kt crosswind and a 4 kt tailwind.
Runway rollout alignment was noted as very good as the aircraft decelerated and exited the runway.
The aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in less than 1 minute, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 1,332 nm, took 165 minutes, and consumed 6,995 kg of fuel.
The Boeing 737-700 conducted the final approach to runway 34 at EFKT Kittilä Airport and was assessed as unstable at the 1,000 ft gate, being more than 20 kt above VREF. The aircraft descended from 1,519 ft agl to 52 ft agl in 84 seconds and was scored on the stabilisation gates.
At the threshold the height was good and the threshold speed was good at 125 kt, indicating the aircraft met the required parameters for the flare segment.
Touchdown occurred 219 m down the runway with a speed of 120 kt, both rated as good, and the touchdown rate was firm at minus 396 fpm. Runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The total landing distance was 725 m, representing 29 % of the 2,485 m runway, and rollout alignment was very good.
To improve the overall score, reduce the approach speed to within VREF by the 1,000 ft gate and manage the descent profile to meet the stabilisation criteria, which will help convert the unstable approach into a stabilised one.
