Smooth the climb
Pull to 15 degrees at one rate and you get a clean liftoff, pull to the same 15 degrees at twice the rate and you get an overshoot, a push, and an oscillation through the first few hundred feet. The type-general rule of thumb is a rotation rate of about 2 to 3 degrees per second, which means roughly five to seven seconds from starting the pull to reaching the initial climb attitude of around 15 degrees nose-up. Count it out loud during your next takeoff and you will almost certainly discover you have been rotating in two seconds flat.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 753 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 753 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 39 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 18 at FA37 Wing South Airpark. The aircraft, a DHC-2 Beaver, accelerated down the 113-meter runway, taking off at a speed of 52 knots. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 0 knots from 237 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airpark, it quickly gained altitude, rising from 688 feet above sea level to 971 feet in less than a minute, covering a distance of less than a nautical mile. The climb was steep and efficient, showcasing the capabilities of the DHC-2 Beaver.
After reaching the desired altitude, the aircraft began its descent, starting overhead FA37 Wing South Airpark. The descent was more gradual, taking 2 minutes to drop from 998 feet to 286 feet above sea level, covering a distance of 101 nautical miles. This descent was likely a controlled and deliberate maneuver, allowing the pilot to assess the aircraft's performance and prepare for the final approach.
The final approach to runway 28 at FD30 Southeastern Airport was made from the east, with the aircraft heading 270 degrees at an altitude of 251 feet above ground level. The pilot executed a smooth and controlled approach, aligning the aircraft with the runway and preparing for touchdown.
The landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 54 knots and a distance of 37 meters. The touchdown rate was fair, at -244 feet per minute, but the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The pilot's skill and experience were evident in the smooth and controlled landing.
The total landing distance was 235 meters, which was 31% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the pilot had maintained control of the aircraft throughout the landing process. The total flight distance was 102 nautical miles, and the flight took approximately 3 minutes to complete, using 5 kilograms of fuel.
The DHC-2 Beaver aircraft successfully landed at Southeastern Airport, achieving a score of 95.3%. The final approach was conducted from the east, heading 270.0° at 0 nm and 251 ft above ground level (agl). The aircraft landed on runway 28, which has a length of 753 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct height as it approached the runway. However, the threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 58 knots. Despite this, the touchdown distance was good at 37 meters, and the touchdown speed of 54 knots was also within acceptable limits.
The touchdown rate of -244 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair, suggesting that the aircraft could have been brought down to the ground more smoothly. Nevertheless, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 0 knots from 237°. There was no crosswind or headwind, which made the landing even more straightforward.
The total landing distance of 235 meters was 31% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. This suggests that the aircraft was able to land smoothly and efficiently. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway after touchdown.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft was able to touch down safely and smoothly on the runway. The slight deviation in threshold speed and the fair touchdown rate were the only areas for improvement, but the overall performance of the aircraft was impressive.
