Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,059 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 299 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 31 at EGOV Anglesey Airport, where the Britten Norman Maritime Defender took off with a takeoff distance of 507 meters, which accounted for 22% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 100 knots. At the time of departure, the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 1 knot from a direction of 269 degrees, resulting in a negligible crosswind and headwind.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it reached an altitude of 545 feet above sea level, an increase of 171 feet from the initial altitude of 374 feet. This climb was achieved in just 1 minute and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The enroute level cruise phase began overhead Valley, Anglesey, and lasted for 23 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a distance of 48 nautical miles.
The first descent phase started 6 miles south east of Howth, Leinster, Ireland, where the aircraft descended from an altitude of 1,835 feet to 1,049 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles. Following this, the aircraft entered another level cruise phase, this time starting 3 miles south east of Howth and lasting for 2 minutes, during which it covered a distance of 3 nautical miles.
The second descent phase began 2 miles south east of Dollymount, Leinster, Ireland, where the aircraft descended from an altitude of 991 feet to 234 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. The final level cruise phase took place overhead Ringsend, Leinster, Ireland, and lasted for 4 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a distance of 4 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 34 at EIDW Dublin Airport was made from the south east, with the aircraft heading 337.0 degrees at an altitude of 300 feet above ground level and a distance of 1 nautical mile from the runway threshold. The landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 65 knots and a distance of 296 meters, which was 28% of the runway length. The touchdown rate was smooth at -102 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking 1 minute to cover a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 66 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 35 minutes. The aircraft used 37 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Britten Norman Maritime Defender aircraft successfully landed at Dublin Airport, achieving a score of 99.6%. The final approach to runway 34 was conducted from the south east, with a heading of 337.0° at 1 nautical mile and 300 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft demonstrated precise control and navigation skills, aligning perfectly with the runway threshold.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was slightly below the target threshold speed of 76 knots, registering at 76 kt. However, this minor deviation did not impact the overall performance of the landing. The touchdown distance of 296 meters was also within acceptable limits, showcasing the pilot's ability to control the aircraft's descent and speed.
The touchdown speed of 65 kt was well within the target range, indicating a smooth and controlled landing. The rate of descent was also smooth, with a rate of -102 feet per minute (fpm). This suggests that the pilot maintained a steady and consistent approach, avoiding any sudden or abrupt movements that could have compromised the safety of the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 1 kt from 270°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind component, allowing the pilot to focus on maintaining a stable and controlled approach. The total landing distance of 572 meters was 28% of the runway length, indicating a safe and efficient use of the available runway space.
The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control of the aircraft during the critical phase of the landing. Overall, the Britten Norman Maritime Defender aircraft performed exceptionally well during the landing, showcasing the skills and expertise of the pilot involved.
