MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 809 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 809 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 258 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with taxiing from the parking area to the runway, which took approximately 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Vision Jet, then departed from runway 14 at the Mansfield Muni Airport (1B9). The takeoff distance was 513 meters, which accounted for 61% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 98 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 5 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 7 knots from a direction of 213 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 0 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, which started overhead the Mansfield Muni Airport. The climb took 4 minutes and covered a distance of 9 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 574 feet above sea level to 6,705 feet above sea level, an increase of 6,132 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which started 1 mile northwest of Wrentham, Massachusetts. This phase of the flight lasted for 16 minutes and covered a distance of 61 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 1 mile southwest of Northfield, Massachusetts. The descent took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 16 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 7,462 feet above sea level to 3,912 feet above sea level, a decrease of 3,551 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, which started 4 miles southeast of Wilmington, Vermont. This phase of the flight lasted for 4 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 01 at the Deerfield Valley Regional Airport (4V8) was made from the south, heading 350 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 881 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 01 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 255 meters, which was good. The touchdown speed was 65 knots, and the touchdown rate was excellent at -91 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was also very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -5 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 12 knots from a direction of 298 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 10 knots and a headwind of 8 knots.
The total flight distance was 95 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 32 minutes. The aircraft used 151 kilograms of fuel during the flight. Overall, the flight was successful, with good performance and handling characteristics.
The Vision Jet has successfully landed at Deerfield Valley Regional Airport, achieving a score of 93.6%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading 350.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 881 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot executed a precise final approach, taking into account the runway length of 809 meters and the local weather conditions.
The temperature at the airport was -5°C, with a wind speed of 12 knots at 298°. This resulted in a crosswind of 10 knots and a headwind of 8 knots. Despite these conditions, the pilot maintained excellent control, ensuring a smooth touchdown. The threshold speed of 67 knots was well below the target, indicating a cautious approach to avoid stalling the aircraft.
Upon touchdown, the Vision Jet demonstrated a good touchdown distance of 255 meters and a speed of 65 knots. The touchdown rate of -91 feet per minute (fpm) was exceptional, showcasing the pilot's skill in controlling the aircraft's descent. The runway touchdown alignment was also very good, indicating a precise and controlled landing.
The total landing distance of 376 meters was 46% of the runway length, which is a respectable achievement considering the challenging weather conditions. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the landing roll. Overall, this landing was a testament to the pilot's expertise and the Vision Jet's capabilities.
