Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 2,120 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,120 m of the 3,251 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 498 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A321 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Hamburg Helmut Schmidt Airport, taking 6 minutes and covering a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 33, with a takeoff distance of 837 meters, which was 26% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 162 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of 13°C temperature and a wind speed of 15 knots at 300°. The crosswind was 8 knots, while the headwind was 13 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile southwest of Langenhorn, Germany, and reached an altitude of 34,502 feet above sea level, an increase of 33,380 feet in 22 minutes, covering a distance of 130 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a level cruise, starting 2 miles northwest of Borkwalde, Germany, and lasting 7 minutes, covering 60 nautical miles. The enroute descent started 1 mile northeast of Tettau, Germany, and descended from 34,443 feet to 18,753 feet above sea level, a decrease of 15,689 feet in 8 minutes, covering 67 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting overhead Kostomlaty pod Ripem, Czech Republic, and lasting 2 minutes, covering 13 nautical miles. The enroute descent started overhead Klecany, Czech Republic, and descended from 18,677 feet to 4,752 feet above sea level, a decrease of 13,925 feet in 6 minutes, covering 15 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 1 mile south of Modletice, Czech Republic, and lasting 2 minutes, covering 4 nautical miles. The enroute descent started overhead Vestec, Czech Republic, and descended from 4,360 feet to 2,551 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,809 feet in 3 minutes, covering 6 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 30 at Václav Havel Airport Prague was made from the southeast, heading 307.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,347 feet above ground level. The landing took place on runway 30, which was 3,251 meters long. The threshold height was above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 139 knots.
The touchdown point was 85 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 132 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was firm at -324 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.6 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 9°C temperature and a wind speed of 7 knots at 340°, with a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 5 knots.
The total landing distance was 2,043 meters, which was 63% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 303 nautical miles, taking 62 minutes, and the aircraft used 3,423 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed at LKPR Václav Havel Airport Prague, achieving a score of 92.3%. The final approach to runway 30 was initiated from the south east, with a heading of 307.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,347 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with the threshold height being above the target at 63 feet agl. However, the threshold speed was satisfactory at 139 knots, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown point was located 85 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight deviation from the intended landing spot.
The touchdown speed of 132 knots was slightly faster than desired, which could have contributed to a firmer touchdown rate of -324 feet per minute (fpm). Despite this, the runway touchdown position was only slightly misaligned from the centerline by 3.6 meters, demonstrating good control and alignment during the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 9°C, with a wind speed of 7 knots from a direction of 340°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the headwind component was 5 knots, which may have contributed to the slightly faster touchdown speed.
The total landing distance of 2,043 meters was 63% of the available runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the landing roll.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score despite some minor deviations from the ideal landing parameters.
