MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,594 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 219 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Göteborg Landvetter Airport (ESGG) took 19 minutes and covered a distance of 6 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its departure roll on runway 03, utilizing 37% of the 3,594-meter runway to achieve a takeoff distance of 1,207 meters. Liftoff speed was reached at 152 knots, with a local temperature of 5°C and wind conditions of 5 knots at 150°, resulting in a crosswind of 4 knots and a tailwind of 3 knots.
Following departure, the aircraft initiated its enroute climb 1 mile north of ESGG, ascending from 1,449 feet above sea level to 29,973 feet in 10 minutes, covering a distance of 57 nautical miles. The climb rate was impressive, with an increase of 28,524 feet in a relatively short period. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 3 miles northeast of Brastad, Sweden, reducing altitude from 30,273 feet to 11,327 feet in 13 minutes, covering 70 nautical miles. The aircraft continued to cruise at a level altitude 1 mile east of Askim, Norway, before initiating another descent 3 miles southeast of Bjorkelangen, Norway, reducing altitude from 11,000 feet to 2,063 feet in 8 minutes, covering 30 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 01L at Oslo Airport, Gardermoen (ENGM), from the south, aligning with the runway at 4 nautical miles and 1,367 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown distance of 218 meters and a touchdown speed of 116 knots. The aircraft utilized 25% of the 3,594-meter runway, with a runway touchdown alignment that was perfect. Following landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area in 4 minutes, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 189 nautical miles, with a flight time of 49 minutes and a fuel consumption of -264 kilograms.
The final approach to runway 01L at ENGM Oslo Airport, Gardermoen from the south, heading 16.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,367 ft agl, was executed with good quality. The aircraft maintained a stable and controlled descent throughout the approach, with a steady rate of descent and a smooth transition to the flare. The threshold height was good, allowing for a precise touchdown.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was 116 kt, which was within the acceptable range. The touchdown distance of 218 m was also good, indicating a well-executed flare and touchdown. However, the touchdown rate was heavy at -600 fpm, which may have been due to a slight over-rotation or a high rate of descent. Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft centered on the runway centerline. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 3 °C and a headwind of 4 kt, did not appear to have a significant impact on the landing.
The total landing distance of 898 m was 25% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. The runway rollout alignment was very good, with the aircraft maintaining a stable and controlled alignment throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was executed with a high degree of proficiency, with a score of 94.3%.
