MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Improve the touchdown
There are several things that can go wrong during the flare, carrying too much speed over the threshold, starting the flare at the wrong height and inconsistent flight control inputs, all contribute to a poor flare resulting in a hard touchdown or a float down the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,334 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 332 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 737-800 taxied from the parking area to runway 27 at URWA Astrakhan International Airport in 4 minutes, covering a distance of 1 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 27 the aircraft used 1,986 m of runway, representing 62 % of the available length, and lifted off at 159 kt. Ambient conditions were a temperature of 37 °C, wind 4 kt from 330°, with a 3 kt cross-wind component and a 2 kt head-wind component.
Climb commenced 1 mile west of URWA, with the airplane accelerating from 868 ft asl to 37,998 ft asl, an altitude gain of 37,130 ft achieved in 41 minutes while covering 308 nm.
The first cruise segment began overhead Konstantinovsk (Rostov Oblast, Russia) and persisted for 141 minutes, during which 1,068 nm were flown at level altitude.
Descent started 2 miles south-east of Treplin (Brandenburg, Germany), descending from 37,799 ft asl to 4,310 ft asl, a loss of 33,488 ft accomplished in 23 minutes over 146 nm.
A brief cruise followed, initiated 1 mile north of Rethen (Lower Saxony, Germany), lasting 3 minutes and covering 15 nm.
The subsequent descent began 1 mile east of Burgdorf (Lower Saxony, Germany), dropping from 4,001 ft asl to 1,466 ft asl, a reduction of 2,535 ft in 3 minutes while traveling 9 nm.
For the final approach the aircraft aligned with runway 27L at EDDV Hannover Airport from the east, tracking a heading of 273.0° at 4 nm and 1,284 ft agl.
Landing on runway 27L, which is 2,339 m long, the threshold speed was slightly above target at 134 kt. Touchdown occurred 335 m down the runway at 128 kt, with a vertical speed of minus 294 fpm and perfect alignment. Local weather reported a temperature of 23 °C, wind 7 kt from 289°, a 2 kt cross-wind and a 7 kt head-wind. The total landing roll measured 831 m, equivalent to 36 % of the runway, and rollout alignment remained perfect.
The aircraft rolled out along runway 27L, maintaining the established alignment and completing the landing roll within the calculated 831 m distance.
After landing, the Boeing 737-800 taxied from the runway to the parking area in 1 minute, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 1,552 nm, required 220 minutes of airborne time, and consumed 10,053 kg of fuel.
The Boeing 737-800 conducted the final approach to runway 27L at EDDV Hannover Airport on a heading of 273.0 ° while 4 nm from the threshold and at 1,284 ft agl, with local temperature 23 °C, wind 7 kt from 289 °, a 2 kt cross-wind component and a 7 kt head-wind component.
At threshold the aircraft maintained a good height and the threshold speed was slightly above target at 134 kt.
Touchdown occurred 335 m down the runway, a good distance, with a touchdown speed of 128 kt that was a little fast and a touchdown rate that was fair at minus 294 fpm; runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 831 m, representing 36 % of the 2,339 m runway, and runway rollout alignment remained perfect.
Minor refinements should focus on reducing the touchdown speed to the target value to eliminate the “a little fast” condition and to achieve a gentler vertical rate, which will further improve the already excellent 99.2 % score.
