Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,542 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 403 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The Airbus A321 then departed from runway 27R at EDDV Hannover Airport, with a takeoff distance of 1,328 meters, which accounted for 42% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 160 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, a wind speed of 12 knots at 280 degrees, resulting in a 2-knot crosswind and a 12-knot headwind.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started 1 mile west of EDDV Hannover Airport. The climb took 13 minutes, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,204 feet above sea level to 26,671 feet above sea level, an increase of 25,466 feet. The enroute climb covered a distance of 66 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which started 1 mile west of Quedlinburg, Germany. This phase of the flight lasted 7 minutes and covered a distance of 45 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 1 mile north-west of Schkeuditz, Germany. The descent took 8 minutes, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 25,932 feet above sea level to 12,854 feet above sea level, a decrease of 13,078 feet. The enroute descent covered a distance of 56 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, which started 1 mile south of Ebersbach, Germany. This phase of the flight lasted 2 minutes and covered a distance of 9 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, which started 3 miles north-east of Thiendorf, Germany. The descent took 8 minutes, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 12,846 feet above sea level to 1,985 feet above sea level, a decrease of 10,861 feet. The final descent covered a distance of 8 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached EDDC Dresden Airport, it began its final approach to runway 22, which was located to the north-east. The aircraft was heading 221.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,248 feet above ground level, and was 4 nautical miles from the runway. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 12 degrees Celsius, a wind speed of 11 knots at 230 degrees, resulting in a 2-knot crosswind and an 11-knot headwind.
The aircraft landed on runway 22, with a touchdown distance of 404 meters, which was considered good. The touchdown speed was slightly above the target speed at 140 knots, and the touchdown rate was firm at -300 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was very good.
Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 193 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 48 minutes. The aircraft used 2,481 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed at EDDC Dresden Airport, achieving a high score of 98.3%. The final approach to runway 22 was initiated from the north east, with a heading of 221.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,248 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 140 knots, which was slightly above the target threshold speed. However, the touchdown distance of 404 meters was considered good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown speed of 135 knots was a little fast, but the firm touchdown rate of -300 feet per minute (fpm) suggests that the aircraft was able to absorb the impact effectively.
The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the centerline of the runway at the moment of touchdown. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 12°C and a wind speed of 11 knots from a direction of 230°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 11 knots, which helped to reduce the landing distance.
The total landing distance of 1,406 meters was 55% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the aircraft was able to maintain its alignment with the centerline of the runway during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating good control and precision during the final approach and touchdown phases.
