Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 152 m above the runway. The 305 m gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,626 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,626 m of the 3,037 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 438 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A320, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Düsseldorf Airport, taking 11 minutes to cover a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 23L, with the aircraft taking off after covering 72% of the runway's length. The takeoff distance was 1,716 meters, and the liftoff speed was 163 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of Düsseldorf Airport, it began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile southwest of the airport. The climb took 10 minutes to reach an altitude of 7,008 meters above sea level, an increase of 6,660.8 meters from the initial altitude of 347 meters above sea level. During this time, the aircraft covered a distance of 43 nautical miles.
After completing the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 16 minutes and covered a distance of 105 nautical miles. The cruise phase took place overhead the town of Olpe in the state of Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent, starting overhead the town of Sandhausen in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. The descent took 10 minutes to reduce the altitude from 6,970 meters above sea level to 802 meters above sea level, a decrease of 6,168.2 meters. During this time, the aircraft covered a distance of 44 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 07 at Stuttgart Airport took place from the west, with the aircraft heading 74.0 degrees at an altitude of 423.7 meters above ground level and 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing took place on a runway with a length of 3,037 meters, and the threshold height was good. The threshold speed was also good at 133 knots, and the touchdown distance was 440 meters, which was good.
The touchdown speed was 129 knots, which was also good, but the touchdown rate was fair at -1.2 meters per second. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 7.1 meters from the centerline. The local weather at the time of landing was a temperature of 6 degrees Celsius.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking 7 minutes to cover a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 201 nautical miles, and the flight took 52 minutes to complete. The aircraft used 2,111 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at EDDS Stuttgart Airport, achieving a high score of 97.5%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 74.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 423.7 meters above ground level (agl). The pilot executed a precise final approach, setting up for a smooth touchdown on runway 07, which has a length of 3,037 meters.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft demonstrated good threshold height and speed, reaching 133 knots. The touchdown distance was also within acceptable limits at 440 meters. However, the touchdown speed of 129 knots was slightly below the optimal threshold speed, which could be attributed to the pilot's decision to prioritize a smooth touchdown over a slightly faster approach speed.
The touchdown rate of -1.2 meters per second was considered fair, indicating that the aircraft touched down with a moderate rate of descent. This could be a result of the pilot's attempt to maintain a stable approach and touchdown. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 7.1 meters from the centerline, which may require some adjustments to the pilot's approach and landing technique.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 6°C, which is relatively cool. This may have affected the aircraft's performance and the pilot's decision-making during the approach and landing.
The total landing distance of 1,561 meters was 51% of the runway length, which is within acceptable limits. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and successfully aligned the aircraft with the centerline of the runway. Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot demonstrated good skills and judgment in executing a precise and controlled approach and landing.
