Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 6,148 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,856 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took 35 minutes and covered a distance of 6 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Beechcraft King Air 350, then departed from runway 31L at KPSP Palm Springs International Airport. The takeoff distance was 2,075 feet, which accounted for 38% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 111 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 75°F and winds of 4 knots at 110°. The crosswind was 2 knots, and there was a 3-knot tailwind. After departing from KPSP, the aircraft began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport. The climb took 23 minutes and covered a distance of 87 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,491 feet above sea level to 25,130 feet above sea level, an increase of 23,639 feet.
The enroute level cruise started overhead Mesa Verde, California, and lasted for 9 minutes, covering a distance of 172 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 8 miles east of KARI Arizona City Airport. The descent took 15 minutes and covered a distance of 37 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 25,159 feet above sea level to 3,813 feet above sea level, a decrease of 21,346 feet.
The final approach to runway 03 at KTUS Tucson International Airport was made from the southwest, heading 44.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,232 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 03, which had a length of 6,148 feet. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 94 knots. The touchdown point was 441 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 81 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was smooth at -115 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at KTUS were a temperature of 72°F and winds of 3 knots at 89°. The crosswind was 2 knots, and there was a 2-knot headwind. The total landing distance was 3,958 feet, which accounted for 64% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 34 feet from the centerline. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 307 nautical miles, and the flight took 56 minutes. The aircraft used 1,184 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Beechcraft King Air 350 successfully landed at KTUS Tucson International Airport, achieving a score of 94.9%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, heading 44.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,232 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot maintained a good threshold height, which is a crucial aspect of a safe landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 94 kt, indicating a controlled descent. The touchdown point was 441 feet beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. The touchdown speed of 81 kt was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -115 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, indicating a gentle and controlled landing.
The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, which is a testament to the pilot's skill and attention to detail. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 72°F and a gentle wind of 3 kt at 89°. The crosswind and headwind components were minimal, at 2 kt each, which further contributed to a smooth landing.
However, the pilot did experience a slight misalignment during the runway rollout, deviating from the centerline by 34 feet. This minor deviation may be attributed to the aircraft's momentum and the pilot's reaction time. Nevertheless, the total landing distance of 3,958 feet was within the acceptable range, accounting for 64% of the runway length.
Overall, the Beechcraft King Air 350's landing at KTUS Tucson International Airport was a success, with the pilot demonstrating good control and decision-making skills. While there were minor deviations, the landing was generally smooth and controlled, and the pilot's score of 94.9% reflects their proficiency in executing a safe and efficient landing.
