MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,006 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 294 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
A Cessna 408 SkyCourier Cargo departed from GMMP Tourisme, taking off from runway 20 with a takeoff distance of 691 meters, utilizing 81% of the available runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 97 knots, with a local temperature of 17°C and wind conditions of 8 knots at 267°, resulting in a 7-knot crosswind and a 3-knot headwind.
Following departure, the aircraft began its enroute climb, ascending from 483 feet above sea level to 21,160 feet, an increase of 20,677 feet, over a distance of 78 nautical miles in 24 minutes. The climb was followed by a brief level cruise, lasting 3 minutes and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then climbed again, this time from 21,388 feet to 21,959 feet, an increase of 571 feet, over a distance of 6 nautical miles in 2 minutes. The aircraft continued to climb and cruise, reaching a maximum altitude of 23,285 feet, before beginning its descent towards DAUK Touggourt Sidi Madhi Airport. The descent was initiated 47 miles northwest of El Hadjira, Algeria, and the aircraft touched down on runway 01 after a total descent of 17,402 feet in 22 minutes.
The landing was successful, with a touchdown distance of 291 meters, 21% of the available runway. The aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking 6 minutes to cover less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 746 nautical miles, with a total flight time of 153 minutes and a fuel consumption of 698 kilograms. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 22°C and a wind of 12 knots at 200°, resulting in a 2-knot crosswind and a 12-knot tailwind.
The final approach to runway 01 at DAUK Touggourt Sidi Madhi Airport from the south was executed with precision, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 9.0° at 4 nm and 1,288 ft above ground level. The approach quality was excellent, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 89 kt, well within the acceptable range. As the aircraft descended onto the runway, it touched down at a distance of 291 m, with a speed of 82 kt, indicating a smooth and controlled touchdown.
The touchdown characteristics were good, with a touchdown rate of -278 fpm, although slightly below the optimal rate. However, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was well-centered on the runway. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 22 °C and a wind of 12 kt at 200°, contributed to a relatively calm landing environment. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 kt, while the tailwind component was 12 kt, which may have affected the aircraft's ground speed but did not compromise the landing.
The rollout phase was executed flawlessly, with perfect alignment on the runway centerline. The total landing distance of 633 m, which accounted for 21% of the runway length, was well within the acceptable range. Overall, the landing was scored 98.6%, reflecting the high level of proficiency and control demonstrated by the pilot throughout the approach, touchdown, and rollout phases.
