MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Begin the flare with progressive back pressure and keep it coming until the sink is arrested, rather than flying it on flat.
What happened: The nose was barely raised in the flare and little of the sink was taken out, flying the aircraft onto the runway. This pattern usually carries through to a firm touchdown with a noticeable sink rate.
Watch for: Vertical speed indicator: a smoothly reducing sink through the normal flare band, not a steady rate into the runway.
There are several things that can go wrong during the flare, carrying too much speed over the threshold, starting the flare at the wrong height and inconsistent flight control inputs, all contribute to a poor flare resulting in a hard touchdown or a float down the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,108 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 523 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A320neo taxied from the parking area to runway 02 at LPPT Humberto Delgado Airport in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 02, the aircraft accelerated to a rotation speed of 146 kt and lifted off after a take-off run of 1,409 m, which represented 38 % of the runway length; ambient temperature was 21 °C with a wind of 4 kt from 329°, a crosswind component of 3 kt and a headwind component of 2 kt.
Climb commenced overhead Camarate, with the flight ascending from 1,315 ft asl to 38,490 ft asl, an increase of 37,175 ft achieved in 22 minutes while covering 159 nm.
The first cruise segment began 86 miles west of Sagres and continued for 57 minutes, during which the aircraft travelled 469 nm at level flight.
Descent started 72 miles north-west of La Santa, lowering the aircraft from 38,997 ft asl to 2,668 ft asl, a loss of 36,329 ft over 25 minutes and a distance of 156 nm.
A short cruise followed 9 miles south-east of GCLB El Berriel Aeroc Airport, lasting 3 minutes and covering 9 nm.
Subsequent descent began 3 miles north-east of the same airport, reducing altitude from 2,272 ft asl to 1,390 ft asl, a decrease of 882 ft in 2 minutes and a track of 3 nm.
The final approach to runway 03L at GCLP Gran Canaria Airport involved a descent from 1,382 ft agl to 88 ft agl in 115 seconds, with the aircraft scoring on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 03L was executed with a threshold speed of 135 kt; touchdown occurred 105 m beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 130 kt, a vertical rate of minus 279 fpm, and a lateral offset of 4.0 m from the centreline. Local conditions were 27 °C, wind 10 kt from 20°, with no crosswind and a headwind component of 9 kt. The total landing roll measured 1,087 m, representing 35 % of the runway, and rollout alignment was reported as very good.
After touchdown, the aircraft rolled out and then taxied to the parking area in 2 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 805 nm, required 117 minutes of airborne time, and consumed 3,954 kg of fuel.
The Airbus A320neo completed the final approach to runway 02 at LPPT Humberto Delgado Airport from the south, tracking a heading of 23.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,281 ft agl. The approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits, and the local weather was 23 °C with wind 5 kt at 310 °, including a 5 kt crosswind and a 2 kt headwind.
During the threshold and flare phase the threshold height was good and the threshold speed was good at 138 kt. The aircraft maintained the appropriate configuration and height for a smooth flare.
Touchdown occurred with a distance of 251 m, a speed of 135 kt that was good, and a rate of descent that was good at minus 186 fpm. Runway touchdown alignment was very good.
Rollout used a total landing distance of 970 m, representing 26 % of the 3,710 m runway, and runway rollout alignment was perfect.
With a final score of 99.6 % the landing was excellent; minor refinements should focus on preserving the consistent touchdown point near 250 m and maintaining the touchdown speed around 135 kt to keep performance at this high level.
