Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,713 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,713 m of the 3,511 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 462 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Congratulations on achieving a remarkable landing score of 99.5% for the aircraft! Your performance during each phase of the landing was truly impressive.
During the Approach Phase, your precision in maintaining glideslope alignment was exceptional, and though your speed was slightly below target, it still remained within acceptable limits. This demonstrates your skill in managing the descent of the aircraft and ensuring a smooth transition to the next phase.
Moving on to the Landing Phase, your decision-making in determining the threshold height was spot-on, and your execution of the landing flare was excellent. These factors contribute significantly to a successful touchdown and indicate a high level of expertise in handling the aircraft during critical moments.
In the Touchdown Phase, your firm touchdown rate coupled with on-target speed showcases your ability to control the aircraft with precision and confidence. Additionally, the fact that the touchdown distance was inside the touchdown zone and the runway touchdown position was very good further underscores your proficiency in landing procedures.
Finally, during the Rollout Phase, your runway alignment was very good, reflecting your proficiency in maintaining the straight line of the aircraft post-landing. This ensures a safe and efficient rollout, contributing to the overall success of the landing.
In conclusion, your exceptional performance in each phase of the landing process highlights your skill, expertise, and dedication as a pilot. Keep up the excellent work, and continue striving for excellence in all your future flights. Well done!
