Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,994 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 646 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A321 taxied from the parking area to runway 16R at Hurghada International Airport, a movement that lasted 9 minutes and covered 2 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 16R the aircraft used a takeoff distance of 2,063 m, equal to 50 % of the runway, and became airborne at 167 kt. Ambient conditions were a temperature of 41 °C, wind from 080° at 3 kt, a cross-wind component of 3 kt and no head-wind.
Climb commenced about 1 mile south of Hurghada, with the airplane climbing from 1,080 ft asl to 34,009 ft asl, an increase of 32,929 ft achieved in 40 minutes while covering 264 nm.
Level cruise was established 53 miles north-east of Al Bawiti and persisted for 128 minutes, during which 955 nm were flown.
Descent began overhead Prokuplje, Serbia, with the aircraft descending from 33,865 ft asl to 1,639 ft asl, a loss of 32,225 ft in 27 minutes and covering 136 nm.
The final approach to runway 30 at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport was flown from the south-east on a heading of 302.0°, at 4 nm and 1,303 ft agl.
Touchdown on runway 30 occurred with a threshold speed of 141 kt; the aircraft contacted the runway 232 m beyond the touchdown zone at 135 kt, a descent rate of minus 253 fpm, and a lateral offset of 3.1 m from the centreline. Local weather reported a temperature of 32 °C, wind from 040° at 2 kt, a cross-wind component of 1 kt and no head-wind. The total landing distance measured 1,432 m, representing 48 % of the runway.
Runway rollout alignment was very good.
After landing, the Airbus A321 taxied to the parking area in 1 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
Overall, the flight covered a total of 1,364 nm, required 206 minutes, and consumed 10,287 kg of fuel.
The Airbus A321 entered the final approach to runway 30 at LYBE Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport from the south-east, tracking a heading of 302.0° at 4 nm and 1,303 ft agl. Local conditions were 32 °C with a wind of 2 kt from 040°, including a 1 kt crosswind and no headwind.
At threshold the aircraft maintained a good height and achieved a good threshold speed of 141 kt.
Touchdown occurred 232 m beyond the designated touchdown zone with a speed of 135 kt, noted as a little fast. The vertical rate was fair at minus 253 fpm and the touchdown point was slightly misaligned by 3.1 m from the centreline. Total landing distance measured 1,432 m, representing 48 % of the available runway.
Rollout alignment was very good, keeping the aircraft on the centreline through the remainder of the runway.
With a final score of 96.3 % the performance was strong; reducing touchdown speed to better match the target and aiming to land within the touchdown zone will further tighten landing distance and alignment margins.
