MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,343 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 409 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A320ceo taxied from the parking area to runway 27R at EDDV Hannover Airport in 5 minutes, covering 1 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 27R, the aircraft used a takeoff distance of 1,319 m, representing 41 % of the runway, and achieved a liftoff speed of 141 kt. Local weather reported a temperature of 23 °C, wind 2 kt from 186 °, with a cross-wind component of 2 kt and no head-wind.
The initial en-route climb commenced overhead EDDV Hannover, ascending from 1,117 ft asl to 34,009 ft asl, an increase of 32,892 ft in 20 minutes while covering 117 nm.
The first cruise segment began 1 mile east of Wijster in the Netherlands, lasting 18 minutes and covering 119 nm.
A second climb started 53 miles west of De Koog, raising altitude from 34,077 ft asl to 36,006 ft asl, an increase of 1,929 ft in 3 minutes over a distance of 23 nm.
The subsequent cruise phase originated 68 miles north-east of Happisburgh, England, persisting for 25 minutes and spanning 165 nm.
Descent began overhead Whitburn, South Tyneside, with the aircraft descending from 35,494 ft asl to 1,457 ft asl, a loss of 34,036 ft in 20 minutes while covering 100 nm.
For the final approach to runway 24 at EGPH Edinburgh Airport, the aircraft approached from the north-east on a heading of 239.0 °, at 4 nm and 1,348 ft agl.
Landing on runway 24, which is 2,343 m long, the threshold speed was slightly above target at 145 kt. Touchdown occurred at 412 m down the runway with a speed of 134 kt, a vertical rate of minus 107 fpm, and a lateral deviation of 3.6 m from the centreline. Local conditions were 13 °C with wind 12 kt from 250 °, a cross-wind of 2 kt and a head-wind of 12 kt. Total landing distance was 1,198 m, representing 51 % of the runway.
Runway rollout alignment was reported as very good.
The aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking stand in 4 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
Overall, the flight covered 532 nm, taking 97 and used 4,252 kg of fuel.
The Airbus A320ceo, scored 98.8%, made its final approach to runway 24 at EGPH Edinburgh Airport from the north-east, tracking a heading of 239.0° at 4 nm and 1,348 ft agl. The approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits, and the local weather was 13 °C with wind 12 kt from 250°, including a 2 kt crosswind component and a 12 kt headwind.
At threshold the height was good and the threshold speed was slightly above target at 145 kt. The flare proceeded without issue, setting up for touchdown.
Touchdown occurred 412 m down the runway, with a speed of 134 kt that was a little fast and a smooth vertical rate of minus 107 fpm. The touchdown point was slightly misaligned by 3.6 m from the centreline, and the total landing distance was 1,198 m, representing 51 % of the 2,343 m runway.
Runway rollout alignment was very good, completing the landing within the remaining runway length.
Fine-tune speed control to achieve the target threshold speed and reduce the touchdown speed, and apply minor corrections to centreline alignment to eliminate the 3.6 m offset. Maintaining these adjustments will help preserve the high overall score.
