MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,501 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 797 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an RJ100, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Frankfurt Airport, EDDF. This process took approximately 6 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 18, with a takeoff distance of 1,225 meters, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 147 knots.
As the aircraft climbed, it encountered local weather conditions of 22°C temperature and a wind speed of 13 knots at 200°. The crosswind was 5 knots, while the headwind was 12 knots. The enroute climb started 2 miles west of Moerfelden-Walldorf, Hessen, Germany, and reached an altitude of 27,915 feet above sea level, an increase of 26,565 feet from the initial 1,350 feet. This climb took 19 minutes and covered a distance of 91 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, starting overhead Diekirch, Luxembourg. This phase lasted for 29 minutes and covered a distance of 177 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 1 mile north of Mainvilliers, Centre-Val de Loire, France. The descent from 27,791 feet to 3,568 feet took 14 minutes and covered 73 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 1 mile south of Massay, Centre-Val de Loire, France. This phase lasted for only 2 minutes and covered a distance of 6 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 1 mile southwest of Paudy, Centre-Val de Loire, France. The descent from 3,026 feet to 1,808 feet took 2 minutes and covered 7 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 21 at Châteauroux-Déols "Marcel Dassault" Airport, LFLX, was made from the northeast, heading 214.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,265 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown point 372 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 108 knots, which was good, while the touchdown rate was fair at -225 feet per minute.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 20°C temperature and a wind speed of 21 knots at 250°. The crosswind was 12 knots, while the headwind was 16 knots. The total landing distance was 1,279 meters, which accounted for 37% of the runway. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.3 meters from the centerline.
The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, taking approximately 2 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 362 nautical miles, taking a total of 77 minutes, and the aircraft used 2,998 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The RJ100 aircraft successfully landed at LFLX Châteauroux-Déols "Marcel Dassault" Airport, achieving a score of 89.5%. The final approach to runway 21 was initiated from the north east, with a heading of 214.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,265 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 125 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed 372 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 108 knots, which was considered good. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -225 feet per minute (fpm). The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 20°C, with a wind speed of 21 knots from a direction of 250°. This resulted in a crosswind of 12 knots and a headwind of 16 knots. The total landing distance was 1,279 meters, which accounted for 37% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.3 meters from the centerline, indicating a minor deviation from the ideal alignment.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a good touchdown speed and a satisfactory touchdown rate. However, the slightly misaligned runway rollout and the fair touchdown rate suggest areas for improvement in the pilot's landing technique.
