MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,526 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 650 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 4 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-600, then departed from runway 22 at DNAA Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, Nigeria. The takeoff distance was 962 meters, which accounted for 27% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 140 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 29 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 2 knots at 180 degrees. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the headwind was 2 knots. After departing from the airport, the enroute climb started 1 mile southwest of the airport, where the aircraft climbed from an altitude of 2,110 feet above sea level to 39,884 feet above sea level, an increase of 37,775 feet in 36 minutes, covering a distance of 262 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 14 miles northeast of Parakou in Benin, and it lasted for 56 minutes, covering a distance of 948 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 37 miles north of GUYO Youkounkoun Airport in Senegal, where it descended from 39,821 feet above sea level to 3,866 feet above sea level, a decrease of 35,955 feet in 7 minutes, covering a distance of 240 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started again 8 miles southeast of GONG Nguekhokh Airport in Senegal and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 11 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent 3 miles west of GONG Nguekhokh Airport, where it descended from 3,018 feet above sea level to 1,578 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,440 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 01 at GOBD Blaise Diagne International Airport was made from the south, heading 360 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,255 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 01, which had a length of 3,526 meters. The threshold height was slightly above the target, and the threshold speed was also slightly above the target at 138 knots.
The touchdown point was 227 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 124 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -289 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 11 knots at 10 degrees. The crosswind was 2 knots, and the headwind was 11 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,083 meters, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,475 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 113 minutes. The aircraft used 8,748 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-600 aircraft successfully landed at Blaise Diagne International Airport, achieving a score of 95.8%. The final approach to runway 01 was initiated from the south, with a heading of 360.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,255 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with the touchdown point located 227 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone. The touchdown speed of 124 knots was slightly above the target speed, indicating that the pilot may have been able to reduce the speed further to achieve a more optimal touchdown. The touchdown rate of -289 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair, suggesting that the aircraft's descent was not excessively steep.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 20°C and a wind speed of 11 knots from a direction of 10°. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 11 knots, which the pilot successfully managed during the landing. The runway threshold height was slightly above the target, and the threshold speed was also slightly above the target at 138 knots.
The aircraft's performance during the landing was generally satisfactory, with the runway touchdown alignment being perfect. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the post-landing phase. The total landing distance of 1,083 meters was 31% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot demonstrated good control and management of the aircraft during the approach and landing phases. However, there is room for improvement in terms of reducing the touchdown speed and achieving a more optimal touchdown rate.
