MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Reduce your height at the threshold
Even a modest height error carries straight through to the touchdown. Geometry alone says that crossing the threshold 10 feet high on a 3° path moves your touchdown roughly 190 feet further down the runway before the flare adds anything.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 7,296 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 7,296 ft of the 11,987 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,449 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 777-300ER taxied from the parking area to runway 18L at OPLA Allama Iqbal International Airport in 6 minutes, covering approximately 1 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 18L, the aircraft used 5,323 ft of runway, representing 48 % of the available length, and lifted off at 163 kt. Ambient conditions were 89 °F with a wind of 1 kt from 239°, giving a 1 kt headwind and a 1 kt crosswind.
The initial climb commenced 1 mile south of OPLA, climbing from 1,628 ft asl to 37,797 ft asl, an altitude gain of 36,169 ft achieved in 14 minutes while covering 97 nm.
Level cruise began 11 nm north-west of Arifwala and continued for 40 minutes, during which the aircraft travelled 294 nm.
A second climb segment started 2 miles east of Naudero, raising the aircraft from 38,413 ft asl to 39,989 ft asl, a gain of 1,577 ft in 2 minutes over a distance of 13 nm.
The subsequent cruise phase originated 6 nm north-west of Larkana and persisted for 218 minutes, covering 1,658 nm.
Descent commenced 29 nm west of Turaif, descending from 40,005 ft asl to 5,315 ft asl, a loss of 34,690 ft in 15 minutes while traversing 95 nm.
A brief cruise segment started 4 nm east of the Z17I Highway H strip in the Amman Governorate, lasting 2 minutes and covering 6 nm.
The next descent began 2 nm south-west of the same highway strip, dropping from 5,302 ft asl to 3,807 ft asl, a decrease of 1,495 ft in 2 minutes over 6 nm.
On final approach to runway 26L at OJAI Queen Alia International Airport, the aircraft descended from 1,465 ft agl to 156 ft agl in 99 seconds and was recorded as having scored on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 26L, which is 11,987 ft long, occurred with a threshold height of 73 ft agl and a threshold speed of 140 kt. Touchdown was 997 ft beyond the touchdown zone at 134 kt, with a vertical speed of minus 182 fpm and very good alignment. Local weather reported 63 °F, wind 2 kt from 280°, a 2 kt headwind and a 1 kt crosswind. The total landing roll measured 6,944 ft, representing 58 % of the runway.
Runway rollout alignment was noted as perfect as the aircraft decelerated and exited the runway.
The aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in 3 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
Overall, the flight covered a total distance of 2,178 nm, required 307 minutes, and used 0 lbs of fuel.
The approach to runway 26L at OJAI was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope, centreline and speed all within limits. The aircraft descended from 1,465 ft agl to 156 ft agl in 99 seconds and was scored on the stabilisation gates during the final approach.
At the threshold the height of 73 ft agl was well above the target and the threshold speed of 140 kt was slightly above the target, indicating a marginally high entry into the flare.
Touchdown occurred 997 ft beyond the touchdown zone with a speed of 134 kt, described as a little fast, while the vertical rate of minus 182 fpm was good and runway-touchdown alignment was very good on a runway 11,987 ft long.
Rollout alignment was perfect and the total landing distance was 6,944 ft, representing 58 % of the runway. Local weather was 63 °F with wind 2 kt from 280°, a 1 kt crosswind component and a 2 kt headwind component.
To refine the already strong performance, reduce the touchdown speed toward the target and aim for a touchdown point nearer the 1,000 ft aim point to keep the landing distance comfortably within runway limits.
