Improve the pattern downwind leg
Spacing cues are relative to your eyepoint, so two simmers with different FOV settings following the same wingtip cue fly patterns half a mile different in width, and a wide FOV compresses depth so the runway on base looks further away than it is, biasing you towards a late turn. Pick a camera position and FOV, save it, and never change it, because every judgement you calibrate is calibrated to that picture.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,786 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 265 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Kodiak 100 taxied to runway 08 at EGBP Cotswold Airport and commenced the departure roll, achieving a take-off distance of 937 m which represents 52 % of the available runway. Liftoff occurred at 82 kt. Ambient conditions were 16 °C with a wind from 270° at 2 kt; crosswind was nil and a tailwind component of 2 kt was present.
During the approach the aircraft entered a right-hand pattern from runway 08, covering less than 1 nm in 26 seconds. The subsequent right-hand crosswind leg was also under 1 nm and lasted 9 seconds. The downwind turn spanned 2 nm with a 45° angle to the runway and a heading change of 54.5°. The downwind leg itself measured 1 nm and was completed in 36 seconds. The base-leg turn covered another 2 nm, again at a 45° angle, with a heading change of 96.3°. The base leg was less than 1 nm and lasted 13 seconds, followed by a final turn of 2 nm completed in 98 seconds before aligning for landing on runway 26.
Landing was executed on runway 26, whose length is 1,786 m. The threshold speed was slightly above the target at 76 kt. Touchdown occurred 264 m down the runway at 67 kt with a vertical speed of minus 31 fpm, and alignment was recorded as perfect. The total landing distance measured 555 m, representing 31 % of the runway length. Weather at the time remained 16 °C with a wind from 270° at 2 kt, no crosswind, and a headwind component of 2 kt.
Runway rollout alignment remained perfect as the aircraft decelerated to a stop.
In total the flight covered 8 nm, required 6 minutes, and consumed 10 kg of fuel.
The aircraft approached runway 26 at EGBP Cotswold Airport and crossed the threshold at a speed slightly above target, recorded at 76 kt, with a good threshold height.
Touchdown occurred 264 m down the runway at a speed of 67 kt, a rate of descent of minus 31 fpm, and perfect runway-touchdown alignment.
The total landing distance measured 555 m, representing 31 % of the 1,786 m runway, and the rollout alignment was perfect.
Maintain the current touchdown point and alignment, but aim to achieve the target threshold speed rather than the slightly higher 76 kt to further optimise the approach profile.
