Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,996 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 442 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took approximately 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, an Airbus A321, then departed from runway 18 at SBRF Recife/Guararapes - Gilberto Freyre International Airport. The takeoff distance was 855 meters, which accounted for 28% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 154 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 31 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 13 knots at 140 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 5 knots and a headwind of 12 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb 1 mile south of the airport, rising from an altitude of 1,060 feet above sea level to 37,292 feet above sea level, an increase of 36,232 feet in 22 minutes, covering a distance of 123 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 17 miles south of Marechal Deodoro (Alagoas, Brazil) and lasted for 125 minutes. During this period, the aircraft covered a distance of 911 nautical miles. The enroute descent phase began 8 miles south of SNXA Machado Airport Machado (Minas Gerais, Brazil), where the aircraft descended from 37,496 feet above sea level to 4,101 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,395 feet in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 98 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 5 miles south of Santa Isabel (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 11 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 28L at SBGR André Franco Montoro International Airport was made from the east, heading 254.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,344 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 28L was successful, with a touchdown distance of 443 meters, which was good. The touchdown speed was 116 knots, also within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -230 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline by 10.5 meters. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 23 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 4 knots at 329 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 1,150 meters, which accounted for 38% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned from the centreline by 9.5 meters. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took approximately 6 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,151 nautical miles, taking a total of 181 minutes, and the aircraft used 7,399 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 successfully landed at SBGR André Franco Montoro International Airport, achieving a score of 94.7%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 254.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,344 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was conducted with a good threshold height, indicating that the aircraft was properly configured for landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was slightly below the target threshold speed of 125 knots, registering at 116 knots. This was still considered good, as it allowed for a controlled descent and a relatively short touchdown distance of 443 meters. The touchdown rate of -230 feet per minute (fpm) was fair, suggesting that the aircraft could have been brought down more smoothly.
However, there were some minor issues with the landing. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 10.5 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's approach path. Additionally, the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 9.5 meters from the centerline, indicating that the aircraft may have drifted off course during the rollout phase.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 23°C and a light wind of 4 knots at 329°. The crosswind component was minimal, at 4 knots, while the headwind component was negligible, at 1 knot. Overall, the landing was considered good, with the aircraft coming to a stop within 38% of the runway length, which was 1,150 meters.
