Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,768 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 586 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The Boeing 777-300 then departed from runway 01 at Ugolny Yuri Ryktheu Airport, with a takeoff distance of 843 meters, which accounted for 24% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 162 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 5 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 3 knots at 329 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 2 knots. As the aircraft climbed, it reached a height of 14,891 feet above sea level, an increase of 13,669 feet from the initial altitude of 1,222 feet.
The enroute climb started over Ugolny Yuri Ryktheu Airport, Anadyr, and lasted for 6 minutes, covering a distance of 29 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, which began 30 miles east of the airport and lasted for 2 minutes, covering 11 nautical miles. This was followed by another enroute climb, which started 42 miles east of the airport and took the aircraft to a height of 36,855 feet above sea level, an increase of 21,967 feet from the previous altitude.
The level cruise phase that followed lasted for 80 minutes, covering a distance of 652 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, which started 2 miles south-east of Tatitna Airport, Alaska, and lasted for 21 minutes, covering a distance of 111 nautical miles. The descent took the aircraft from a height of 36,824 feet above sea level to 1,426 feet above sea level.
The final approach to runway 07R at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport was made from the west, with a heading of 90 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,279 feet above ground level. The landing was made on the runway, which had a length of 3,768 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 149 knots.
The touchdown point was 180 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 145 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -229 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 12 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 2 knots at 0 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 0 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,062 meters, which accounted for 28% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, and the taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes, covering less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 896 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 129 minutes. The aircraft used 14,925 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at PANC Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, achieving a score of 96.8%. The final approach to runway 07R was initiated from the west, with a heading of 90.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,279 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway, with the threshold height being satisfactory. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 149 kt, indicating a slight deviation from the optimal landing conditions. The touchdown point was located 180 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may be considered a minor deviation.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was recorded at 145 kt, which was slightly faster than the desired speed. The touchdown rate of -229 feet per minute (fpm) was deemed fair, indicating a relatively smooth descent. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's skill and control during the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 12°C and a wind speed of 2 kt at 0°. The crosswind and headwind components were minimal, at 1 kt and 0 kt, respectively. The total landing distance covered by the aircraft was 1,062 meters, which accounted for approximately 28% of the runway length.
Following the touchdown, the runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilot maintained control and alignment during the post-landing phase. Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating the pilot's expertise in navigating challenging weather conditions and adhering to optimal landing procedures.
