MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,087 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,087 m of the 2,822 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 740 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300, then departed from runway 33L at Kuwait International Airport, OKBK. The takeoff distance was 2,501 meters, which accounted for 73% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 190 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 34 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 5 knots from a direction of 180 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a tailwind of 5 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile south of Al Farwaniyah, Kuwait. The climb took 23 minutes and covered a distance of 140 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,164 feet above sea level to 35,781 feet above sea level, an increase of 34,617 feet.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 8 miles northeast of Nasiriyah, Iraq. This phase lasted for 188 minutes and covered a distance of 1,437 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb, this time starting 1 mile north of Pescari, Romania. The climb took only 3 minutes and covered a distance of 26 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 34,511 feet above sea level to 36,571 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,059 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 1 mile southeast of Sepreus, Romania. This phase lasted for 80 minutes and covered a distance of 608 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 2 miles southeast of Mohnesee, Germany. The descent took 29 minutes and covered a distance of 134 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 36,149 feet above sea level to 1,277 feet above sea level, a decrease of 34,872 feet.
The final approach to runway 36R at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, EHAM, was made from the south, with a heading of 3.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,277 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 36R, which had a length of 2,822 meters. The threshold height at 85 feet above ground level was significantly above the target, while the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 155 knots.
The touchdown point was 291 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 150 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was firm at -312 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 13.5 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 19 knots from a direction of 20 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 6 knots and a headwind of 18 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,973 meters, which accounted for 70% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 20.2 meters from the centerline. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 5 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 2,356 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 341 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 45,183 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at EHAM Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, but with some notable deviations from the ideal landing parameters. The final approach was initiated from the south, heading 3.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,277 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 36R, which has a length of 2,822 meters.
The threshold height at 85 feet agl was significantly above the target, indicating that the aircraft was higher than desired when reaching the runway threshold. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 155 knots, suggesting that the aircraft was moving at a suitable speed when it reached the threshold. The touchdown point was 291 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a deviation from the ideal landing spot.
The touchdown speed of 150 knots was a little fast, indicating that the aircraft could have benefited from a slightly slower approach to reduce the impact on the landing gear and brakes. The touchdown rate was firm at -312 feet per minute (fpm), which is a relatively high rate of descent. This could be a concern for the aircraft's landing gear and brakes.
The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 13.5 meters from the centerline, which could be a concern for the aircraft's alignment and stability during the landing roll. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 20°C and a wind speed of 19 knots at 20°. The crosswind was relatively light at 6 knots, while the headwind was strong at 18 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,973 meters, which is 70% of the runway length. This is a relatively long landing distance, indicating that the aircraft may have been slowed down more than necessary during the approach. The runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 20.2 meters from the centerline, which could be a concern for the aircraft's stability and control during the landing roll.
Overall, while the Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at EHAM Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, there were several deviations from the ideal landing parameters that could be addressed to improve the landing performance and reduce the risk of damage to the aircraft.
