Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,550 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 793 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 15 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft, a TBM 850, then departed from runway 16 at SADJ Mariano Moreno Airport. The takeoff distance was 672 meters, which accounted for 28% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 101 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of the airport, it encountered local weather conditions of 11°C temperature and a wind speed of 1 knot at 195°. The crosswind was negligible, and the headwind was 1 knot. The enroute climb started 1 mile southeast of SADJ Mariano Moreno Airport and continued to 3,066 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,239 feet in 4 minutes, covering a distance of 14 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, starting 3 miles east of SAMZ Marcos Paz Airport and lasting 3 minutes, covering 14 nautical miles. This was followed by a descent phase, which began 7 miles northwest of SA3H Canuelas Airport and ended at 899 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,163 feet in 3 minutes, covering 13 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 11 miles east of SA8S Lobos Airport and lasting 5 minutes, covering 11 nautical miles. This was followed by a climb phase, which began 3 miles west of SATQ Bahía Agradable Airport and ended at 2,851 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,985 feet in 3 minutes, covering 10 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 11 miles southwest of SA88 San Miguel Del Monte Bahia Agradable Airport and lasting 5 minutes, covering 21 nautical miles. This was followed by a climb phase, which began 9 miles northeast of SA8E Las Flores Airport and ended at 5,073 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,405 feet in 2 minutes, covering 6 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 3 miles northeast of SA8E Las Flores Airport and lasting 7 minutes, covering 29 nautical miles. This was followed by a descent phase, which began 13 miles north of RAU Rauch Airport and ended at 1,814 feet above sea level, a decrease of 3,265 feet in 10 minutes, covering 38 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 19 at SAZT Héroes De Malvinas Airport was made from the north, heading 185.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,244 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 19, which had a length of 2,550 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was well above the target at 77 knots.
The touchdown point was 356 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 70 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was excellent at -66 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 9.3 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 15°C temperature and a wind speed of 1 knot at 270°.
The total landing distance was 1,011 meters, which accounted for 40% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 12.4 meters from the centerline. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 166 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 57 minutes. The aircraft used -57 kilograms of fuel during
The TBM 850 aircraft successfully landed at SAZT Héroes De Malvinas Airport, achieving an overall score of 87.7%. The final approach to runway 19 was initiated from the north, with a heading of 185.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,244 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on the runway, which has a length of 2,550 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct height as it approached the runway. However, the threshold speed was above the target speed, coming in at 77 knots. This may have been due to the aircraft's approach configuration or the pilot's decision to prioritize a safe landing over a precise touchdown speed.
The touchdown point was located 356 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is a significant deviation. Additionally, the touchdown speed of 70 knots was slightly faster than the target speed, which may have contributed to the aircraft's distance from the touchdown zone. On the positive side, the touchdown rate was excellent, with a rate of -66 feet per minute (fpm).
The runway touchdown position was also misaligned, with the aircraft deviating from the centerline by 9.3 meters. This may have been due to a combination of factors, including wind, pilot error, or aircraft performance. The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°.
The total landing distance was 1,011 meters, which is 40% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was able to slow down quickly after touchdown. However, the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned, with the aircraft deviating from the centerline by 12.4 meters. This may have been due to the same factors that contributed to the initial touchdown position misalignment.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were several areas for improvement. The pilot may have benefited from a more precise approach configuration and a closer attention to the aircraft's speed and position during the final approach and touchdown phases.
