MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,508 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,508 m of the 3,797 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 725 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in question was operated by a Boeing 777-300 aircraft. The aircraft began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 18L at EHAM Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, with a takeoff distance of 1,576 meters, which accounted for 56% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 186 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 8 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 3 knots at 119 degrees. The crosswind was 2 knots, while the headwind was 1 knot. The aircraft began its enroute climb 1 mile east of Aalsmeerderbrug, a location in the province of Noord-Holland, Netherlands. During this climb, the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 785 feet above sea level to 31,115 feet, an increase of 30,330 feet, in 17 minutes and covering a distance of 114 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started over Sendenhorst, a location in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, and lasted for 144 minutes, covering a distance of 1,189 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb 7 miles southeast of Bolu, Turkey, and ascended from 31,146 feet to 33,147 feet, an increase of 2,001 feet, in 3 minutes and covering a distance of 29 nautical miles. This was followed by another enroute level cruise that started 6 miles northwest of Camlidere, Ankara, Turkey, and lasted for 221 minutes, covering a distance of 1,777 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began another enroute climb at a location with coordinates 23.3735311 latitude and 61.134306 longitude, and ascended from 33,072 feet to 35,081 feet, an increase of 2,009 feet, in 3 minutes and covering a distance of 27 nautical miles. This was followed by another enroute level cruise that started at coordinates 23.141289 latitude and 61.5776267 longitude and lasted for 299 minutes, covering a distance of 2,494 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent 44 miles east of WIMM Kualanamu International Airport Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia. The descent started from an altitude of 34,851 feet and ended at 33,969 feet, a decrease of 882 feet, in 2 minutes and covering a distance of 14 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute level cruise 40 miles north of Kisaran, North Sumatra, Indonesia, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 13 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its final enroute descent 41 miles northeast of Kisaran, and descended from 33,253 feet to 3,914 feet, a decrease of 29,338 feet, in 17 minutes and covering a distance of 93 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 33 at WMSA Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah International Airport, a location in Selangor, Malaysia, from the southeast, heading 330.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,174 feet above ground level.
The landing took place on runway 33, which had a length of 3,797 meters. The threshold height at 72 feet above ground level was well above the target, while the threshold speed was good at 148 knots. The touchdown point was 321 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 141 knots, which was a little fast. The
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at WMSA Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah International Airport, with a score of 87.2%. The final approach to runway 33 was initiated from the south east, heading 330.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,174 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with a speed of 141 knots, which was slightly above the target speed. The touchdown point was located 321 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, indicating a slight deviation from the intended landing spot. The runway touchdown position was also slightly misaligned by 5.5 meters from the centerline.
The threshold height at 72 feet agl was well above the target, suggesting that the aircraft was able to maintain a safe altitude during the approach. The threshold speed of 148 knots was within the acceptable range, indicating a good control of the aircraft's descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 25°C. The total landing distance of 2,439 meters was 64% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight.
One area for improvement was the touchdown rate, which was fair at -235 feet per minute (fpm). A more controlled touchdown rate would have been desirable to minimize the impact on the aircraft's landing gear and the runway surface.
Despite some minor deviations, the aircraft's runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating a high level of control and stability during the landing phase. Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft was able to come to a stop within a reasonable distance from the runway threshold.
