Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,637 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 344 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 26 minutes and covered a distance of 5 nautical miles. The aircraft, an SR22, then departed from runway 05 at LTBA Istanbul Atatürk Airport. The takeoff distance was 364 meters, which accounted for 15% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 81 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 7 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 7 knots blowing from a direction of 120 degrees. The crosswind component was 6 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots. With these conditions in mind, the aircraft began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile southwest of Bahcelievler, Istanbul. The climb took place from an altitude of 1,143 feet above sea level to 8,728 feet above sea level, an increase of 7,585 feet, in just 6 minutes and covering a distance of 11 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 3 miles east of Sisli, Istanbul. This phase lasted for 16 minutes and covered a distance of 272 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb, this time starting 3 miles west of LTCM Sinop Airport, Sinop. The climb took place from an altitude of 8,628 feet above sea level to 12,501 feet above sea level, an increase of 3,873 feet, in just 3 minutes and covering a distance of 9 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 1 mile east of Sinop, Turkey. This phase lasted for 9 minutes and covered a distance of 169 nautical miles. As the aircraft continued its journey, it began its descent, starting 18 miles north of Gorele, Giresun, Turkey. The descent took place from an altitude of 12,334 feet above sea level to 1,520 feet above sea level, a decrease of 10,815 feet, in 14 minutes and covering a distance of 42 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 11 at LTCG Trabzon International Airport was made from the west, with a heading of 113.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,407 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 11, which had a length of 2,637 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed at 87 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 344 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 78 knots. The touchdown rate was excellent at -95 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.5 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 8 degrees Celsius.
The total landing distance was 882 meters, which accounted for 33% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took just 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 513 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 61 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 155 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The SR22 aircraft successfully landed at LTCG Trabzon International Airport, achieving a score of 91.2%. The final approach was conducted from the west, heading 113.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,407 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 11, which has a length of 2,637 meters.
The threshold height was satisfactory, but the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 87 knots. However, the touchdown distance of 344 meters was considered good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown speed of 78 knots was a little fast, but the touchdown rate of -95 feet per minute (fpm) was excellent, demonstrating a well-executed landing.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.5 meters from the centerline, which may require some adjustments in the approach or landing technique. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 8°C.
The total landing distance of 882 meters was 33% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. This indicates that the aircraft was able to land efficiently and effectively. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, with some minor areas for improvement. The pilot demonstrated good control and precision during the approach and landing phases, and the aircraft performed well under the given conditions.
