Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,836 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 568 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at LIBC Crotone Airport, achieving a score of 93.7%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the south, heading 349.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,307 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 35, which has a length of 1,836 meters.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 151 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is slightly off-target. The touchdown speed of 129 knots was a bit faster than ideal, indicating that the pilot may have needed to apply more braking force to slow down the aircraft. The touchdown rate of -241 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair, suggesting that the pilot managed to control the descent but could have done better.
The runway touchdown position was also slightly misaligned, deviating from the centerline by 5.4 meters. However, the runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 28°C and a gentle wind of 7 knots at 40°. The crosswind component was 5 knots, while the headwind component was 4 knots. These conditions did not appear to have significantly impacted the landing.
Overall, while the landing was not perfect, the Airbus A320 pilot demonstrated good control and management of the aircraft during the final approach and touchdown phases. With some adjustments to touchdown speed and alignment, the pilot could have achieved an even higher score.
