Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 500 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,891 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 331 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 24R at LEPA Palma de Mallorca Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,288 meters, which is 40% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 157 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 19 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 19 knots from a direction of 250 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 19 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile west of LEPA Palma de Mallorca Airport. The climb took 15 minutes and covered a distance of 94 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,049 feet above sea level to 32,466 feet above sea level, an increase of 31,417 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 6 miles south west of LEMH Menorca Airport. This phase lasted for 65 minutes and covered a distance of 511 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 1 mile south east of Sargans, Switzerland. The descent took 14 minutes and covered a distance of 87 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 31,412 feet above sea level to 9,319 feet above sea level, a decrease of 22,092 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 1 mile north of Seefeld in Tirol, Austria. This phase lasted for 7 minutes and covered a distance of 31 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting overhead Fuegen, Austria. The descent took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 17 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 9,310 feet above sea level to 3,517 feet above sea level, a decrease of 5,794 feet.
The final approach to runway 26 at LOWI Innsbruck Airport was made from the east, heading 258.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,584 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 26, which has a length of 1,891 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 139 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 333 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 131 knots. The touchdown rate was fair at -261 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.4 meters from the centreline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 3 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 22 knots from a direction of 280 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 20 knots. The total landing distance was 1,082 meters, which is 57% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 747 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 119 minutes. The aircraft used 5,100 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at Innsbruck Airport (LOWI) with a score of 97.7%. The final approach was conducted from the east, heading 258.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,584 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 26, which has a length of 1,891 meters.
The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed was maintained at 139 knots, indicating a good approach speed. The touchdown distance of 333 meters was also within acceptable limits. However, the touchdown speed of 131 knots was slightly higher than desired, which may have contributed to a fair touchdown rate of -261 feet per minute (fpm).
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 6.4 meters, which may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing included a temperature of 3°C, a wind speed of 22 knots from 280°, resulting in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 20 knots.
The total landing distance of 1,082 meters was 57% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was well under control during the landing roll. Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor issues with the touchdown speed and runway alignment.
