MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Improve the takeoff
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 5,933 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,277 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 14 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Cessna Longitude, then departed from runway 10 at LSZR Sankt Gallen Altenrhein Airport. The takeoff distance was 2,462 feet, which accounted for 57% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 119 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of a temperature of 61°F and a wind speed of 1 knot at 270°. The enroute climb started overhead Gaissau in Vorarlberg, Austria, and the aircraft climbed from 2,331 feet above sea level to 43,052 feet above sea level, an increase of 40,721 feet in 25 minutes, covering 116 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 7 miles south of Hollersbach im Pinzgau in Salzburg, Austria, and lasted 2 minutes, covering 8 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb 5 miles south of Niedernsill in Salzburg, Austria, and climbed from 43,629 feet above sea level to 44,389 feet above sea level, an increase of 760 feet in 2 minutes, covering 13 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 1 mile northwest of Rauris in Salzburg, Austria, and lasted 32 minutes, covering 200 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent 4 miles northwest of Cseteny in Veszprem megye, Hungary, and descended from 44,986 feet above sea level to 11,494 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,492 feet in 14 minutes, covering 89 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 1 mile northeast of Jaszszentlaszlo in Bacs-Kiskun county, Hungary, and lasted 2 minutes, covering 12 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another descent 2 miles east of Kistelek in Csongrad megye, Hungary, and descended from 11,252 feet above sea level to 9,940 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,312 feet in 2 minutes, covering 12 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 2 miles southwest of LHHM Hódmezővásárhelyi Airport in Hodmezovasarhely, Csongrad megye, Hungary, and lasted 4 minutes, covering 23 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent 1 mile northeast of Nadlac in Arad, Romania, and descended from 9,814 feet above sea level to 2,797 feet above sea level, a decrease of 7,017 feet in 7 minutes, covering 27 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 2 miles southeast of Fantanele in Arad, Romania, and lasted 9 minutes, covering 5 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 27 at LRAR Arad International Airport from the east, heading 275.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,275 feet above ground level.
However, the aircraft performed a go-around at 29 feet above ground level. The aircraft then landed on runway 27 at LRAR Arad International Airport, with a runway length of 5,933 feet. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above target at 123 knots.
The touchdown point was 892 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 102 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was smooth at -130 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 30 feet from the centreline. The local weather conditions
The Cessna Longitude aircraft successfully landed at LRAR Arad International Airport, achieving an impressive score of 88.9%. The final approach to runway 27 was conducted from the east, heading 275.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,275 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was characterized by a good threshold height, indicating a well-executed descent.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 123 knots, which is a minor deviation but still within acceptable limits. The touchdown point was located 892 feet beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively long distance but not excessively so. The touchdown speed of 102 knots was good, and the touchdown rate of -130 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, indicating a controlled and stable landing.
However, there were some minor issues with the landing. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 30 feet from the centreline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's approach path or a minor error in navigation. Additionally, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 29 feet from the centreline, which may have been due to a similar reason.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 59°F and a light wind of 1 knot from 270°. The crosswind component was negligible, and the headwind component was minimal, which made the landing conditions relatively easy. Overall, the Cessna Longitude aircraft performed well during the landing, and the minor deviations from the ideal landing parameters did not significantly impact the overall score.
