MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 500 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,588 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 600 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
This flight involved an RJ85 airplane that began at Munich Airport, also known as EDDM. The aircraft taxied from its parking to the runway in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles to reach Munich's runway 08R. The departure roll from runway 08R started with a 36% takeoff distance of 1,427 meters. After accelerating to a takeoff speed of 140 knots, the aircraft successfully lifted off.
The flight then embarked on an enroute climb starting approximately 1 mile south-east of Munich airport. The airplane ascended from an initial altitude of 2,462 feet above sea level to a cruising altitude of 30,005 feet, rising by a substantial 27,543 feet in the span of 22 minutes while covering 127 nautical miles.
Enroute level flight began approximately 4 miles south-west of Metnitz, Austria, and lasted an impressive 56 minutes, covering a distance of 416 nautical miles. Following this cruise phase, the flight started its enroute descent south of Pirot, Serbia. The airplane descended from an altitude of 29,966 feet to 3,050 feet in the span of 17 minutes, covering a distance of 47 nautical miles.
Upon reaching Sofia Airport in Bulgaria, the final approach to runway 09 commenced from the west, at an altitude of 1,288 feet above ground level, with the aircraft heading 94.0 degrees and 4 nautical miles from the runway. The aircraft then landed smoothly on runway 09, utilizing a runway length of 3,588 meters. Although the threshold height was slightly above the target, the threshold speed was suitable at 124 knots.
Other aspects of the landing were also satisfactory, such as the runway touchdown alignment, touchdown speed at 112 knots, and rollout alignment, which were all perfect. However, the touchdown rate was just fair at -277 feet per minute. The aircraft landed a considerable 180 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone.
Upon landing at LBSF Sofia Airport, the total landing distance was 1,149 meters, accounting for 32% of the runway's length. Taxiing to the parking area from the runway took merely 4 minutes, covering a short distance of less than 1 nautical mile. With its final maneuvers complete, the RJ85 flight came to an end, covering a total distance of 601 nautical miles while expending 4,057 kilograms of fuel, and taking around 2 hours to complete.
The aircraft in question, an RJ85, achieved an impressive 97.2% score on its landing at LBSF Sofia Airport. The final approach was undertaken from a heading of 94.0°, originating from the west at an altitude of 1,288 ft (391.5 m) and 4 nm (7.4 km) away from the runway. The aircraft was making a touchdown on runway 09, which has a length of 3,588 m (11,772 ft).
Upon examination of the landing metrics, the threshold height at 57 ft (17.4 m) agl was higher than the target value. However, the threshold speed of 124 kt (229.6 km/h) was satisfactory, indicating that the pilot had maintained control throughout the final stages of the approach. The touchdown point was a respectable 180 m (591.5 ft) beyond the designated touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 112 kt (207.4 km/h), which fell within acceptable parameters.
The touchdown rate of -277 fpm (-1.41 m/s) was only "fair," suggesting that the aircraft may have experienced some slight descent or sink rate during touchdown. Nevertheless, the runway touchdown alignment was flawless, showcasing the pilot's exceptional skills in maintaining the aircraft's trajectory.
Weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with an ambient temperature of 25 °C and a gentle headwind of 6 kt (11.1 km/h) and crosswind of a mere 5 kt (9.3 km/h). The wind speed overall was relatively light, contributing to the smooth nature of the landing.
The plane's total landing distance of 1,149 m (3,773 ft) covered only 32% of the available runway length. Runway rollout alignment was perfect, reflecting the pilot's excellent control and ability to manage the aircraft's post-landing speed and direction. Overall, this landing performance demonstrates the RJ85's capabilities and the pilot's expertise in executing a precise and controlled touchdown.
