MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 5,987 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,777 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 4 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Cessna CJ4 Citation, then departed from runway 05 at the Akron Canton Regional Airport (KCAK). The takeoff distance was 1,817 feet, which accounted for 22% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 138 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 62°F and a wind speed of 2 knots at 270°. The crosswind and tailwind were both 1 knot. After departing from the airport, the enroute climb started 1 mile east of Greensburg, Ohio. The aircraft climbed from an altitude of 2,069 feet above sea level to 14,334 feet above sea level, an increase of 12,265 feet, in 5 minutes and covering a distance of 22 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the enroute level cruise started 1 mile south east of the 2OI4 Aero Lake Farm Airport Westfield Center, Ohio, and lasted for 42 minutes, covering a distance of 244 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 18 miles east of Near North Side, Illinois, and descended from 14,999 feet above sea level to 2,392 feet above sea level, a decrease of 12,608 feet, in 10 minutes and covering a distance of 42 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started again 1 mile south of Grayslake, Illinois, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 05 at the Waukegan National Airport (KUGN) was made from the south west, heading 48.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,256 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 05 at KUGN was successful, with a total landing distance of 2,994 feet, which accounted for 50% of the runway length. The touchdown point was 377 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 96 knots, which was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate was smooth at -150 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 13 feet from the centerline. The local weather conditions during the landing were a temperature of 61°F and a wind speed of 2 knots at 270°, with a crosswind and tailwind of 1 knot each.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking from the runway, which took 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 320 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 67 minutes. Notably, the aircraft used 0 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna CJ4 Citation successfully landed at KUGN Waukegan National Airport, achieving a score of 95.4%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, heading 48.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,256 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot executed a smooth final approach, touching down on runway 05, which has a length of 5,987 feet.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold height was satisfactory, but the threshold speed was slightly too high at 110 knots. The touchdown point was 377 feet beyond the designated touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed of 96 knots was a bit faster than ideal. However, the touchdown rate was smooth at -150 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a controlled descent.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 13 feet, which may have been due to a minor deviation in the pilot's alignment during the approach. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 61°F and a gentle wind of 2 knots at 270°. The crosswind and tailwind components were minimal, at 1 kt each.
The total landing distance of 2,994 feet was 50% of the runway length, which is a relatively normal distance for a Cessna CJ4 Citation. The runway rollout alignment was excellent, indicating that the pilot maintained control and alignment during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was satisfactory, with some minor deviations from ideal performance.
