Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,368 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,368 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 340 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 34R at Adnan Menderes International Airport, also known as LTBJ. The aircraft, a Cessna C172, accelerated down the runway and lifted off at a speed of 64 knots. The takeoff distance was 390 meters, which is 12% of the runway length. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 1 knot from a direction of 270 degrees, resulting in a negligible crosswind and headwind.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead Gaziemir Air Base, also known as LTBK. The aircraft climbed from an altitude of 1,428 feet above sea level to 2,177 feet above sea level, an increase of 749 feet, in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. This initial climb phase was followed by a level cruise, which lasted for 13 minutes and covered a distance of 14 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time from an altitude of 2,272 feet above sea level to 3,058 feet above sea level, an increase of 786 feet, in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles. This climb phase was followed by another level cruise, which lasted for 10 minutes and covered a distance of 10 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its final approach to runway 17 at Gaziemir Air Base, also known as LTBK. The aircraft was heading 170 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway and at an altitude of 1,252 feet above ground level. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 1 knot from a direction of 280 degrees, resulting in a negligible crosswind and headwind.
The aircraft landed on runway 17, which has a length of 1,368 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 63 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 338 meters, and the touchdown speed was 48 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was also good at -189 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 6.1 meters.
The total landing distance was 549 meters, which is 40% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took 8 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 36 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 32 minutes. Notably, the aircraft used no fuel during the flight.
The Cessna C172 aircraft successfully landed at LTBK Gaziemir Air Base, achieving a high score of 96.6%. The final approach to runway 17 was conducted from the north, with the aircraft heading 170.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,252 feet above ground level.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 63 knots, which was slightly below the target threshold speed. However, this did not affect the overall performance of the landing, as the touchdown distance of 338 meters was considered good. The touchdown speed of 48 knots was also within acceptable limits, and the touchdown rate of -189 feet per minute was good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
One minor issue was observed during the landing, as the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.1 meters from the centerline. Despite this, the runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from 280°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, and there was no headwind. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft coming to a stop within 549 meters, which is 40% of the runway length.
