A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,703 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,703 m of the 2,598 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 442 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A320 taxied from the parking area to runway 17R at SCEL Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport, a movement that lasted 18 minutes and covered 4 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 17R, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 160 kt and left the ground after traveling 1,780 m, which represented 47 % of the runway length; ambient temperature was 12 °C with a wind of 7 kt from 134°, including a 5 kt headwind and a 5 kt crosswind.
The climb commenced overhead SCEL, climbing from 2,545 ft asl to 30,533 ft asl - an altitude gain of 27,989 ft - in 14 minutes while covering 80 nm.
Cruise began 8 miles south-east of SCRZ El Carrizal Airport and was maintained for 9 minutes, during which the aircraft flew 57 nm.
Descent was initiated 11 miles north-west of SCMG Santa María de Mingre Airport, descending from 31,056 ft asl to 1,635 ft asl - a loss of 29,422 ft - over 18 minutes and a distance of 89 nm.
The final approach to runway 20 at SCIE Carriel Sur Airport was flown from the north-east on a heading of 204.0°, intercepting the glide path at 4 nm and 1,595 ft agl.
Landing on runway 20, which is 2,598 m long, was achieved with a threshold speed of 140 kt; touchdown occurred 439 m down the runway at a speed of 132 kt and a vertical rate of minus 129 fpm, with the aircraft aligned very well to the centreline.
Runway rollout continued for a total landing distance of 1,624 m, representing 62 % of the runway, and the alignment remained very good throughout the deceleration phase.
After exiting the runway, the aircraft taxied to the parking area in 3 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 237 nm, required 59 minutes from departure to arrival, and consumed 2,142 kg of fuel.
Airbus A320, score 99.0%, made a final approach to runway 20 at SCIE Carriel Sur Airport from the north-east on a heading of 204.0° at 4 nm and 1,595 ft agl. The approach was assessed as unstable at the 1,000 ft gate because the sink rate was too high. Local weather was temperature 14 °C, wind 9 kt at 330°, crosswind 7 kt and tailwind 5 kt.
The aircraft established a good threshold height and the threshold speed was good at 140 kt.
Touchdown occurred 439 m down the runway, a distance rated good, with a touchdown speed of 132 kt that was a little fast. The touchdown rate was smooth at -129 fpm and runway touchdown alignment was very good.
Total landing distance was 1,624 m, representing 62 % of the 2,598 m runway, and runway rollout alignment was very good.
To convert the unstable approach into a stabilized one, the sink rate should be reduced to meet the 1,000 ft gate criteria, and the touchdown speed should be trimmed slightly lower to match the target, which will tighten the already high overall score.
