MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Speed on the slow side
Between four hundred and a thousand feet you're heavy, close to the ground and still carrying flap, and speed is the margin holding all three apart. Slow here doesn't feel like anything — the aeroplane climbs, the nose is up, nothing complains — right up until a turn, a gust or a bank tightens the wing's job and the margin is already gone. The fix is rarely "fly faster", it's lowering the nose a degree and letting the speed build before the next thing you do. Pitch buys altitude, speed buys options, and at this height options are the scarcer of the two.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,134 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 454 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, Morocco, the Boeing 737-800 began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took approximately 6 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. As the aircraft lined up on runway 35R, the local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 24 °C and a gentle tailwind of 3 knots.
After a successful departure roll, the aircraft lifted off the runway at a speed of 144 knots, using only 28% of the available runway length. The initial climb phase took the aircraft from 1,575 feet above sea level to 38,921 feet, a vertical gain of 37,346 feet, in just 45 minutes and covering a distance of 363 nautical miles. The enroute climb phase was followed by a 70-minute level cruise, during which the aircraft covered an additional 586 nautical miles, before beginning its descent towards the destination airport. The descent phase was initiated 1 mile southwest of Botsorhel, France, and took the aircraft from 38,997 feet to 2,251 feet above sea level, a decrease of 36,746 feet, in just 25 minutes and covering 180 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 12 at Cardiff International Airport was executed from the west, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 117.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,276 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 130 knots and a touchdown rate of -62 feet per minute. The total landing distance was 924 meters, which accounted for 47% of the available runway length. Following a smooth rollout, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took just 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,148 nautical miles, and the aircraft used 7,273 kilograms of fuel during the journey, which lasted a total of 152 minutes.
The Boeing 737-800 touched down smoothly on runway 12 at EGFF Cardiff International Airport, showcasing a high level of proficiency in the landing phase. The aircraft's approach to the runway from the west, heading 117.0° at 4 nm and 1,276 ft above ground level, was characterized by good quality, with the pilot maintaining a steady descent rate and aligning the aircraft with the runway centerline. The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed of 136 kt was within the acceptable range.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed of 130 kt was slightly above the ideal, but the touchdown rate of -62 fpm was excellent, indicating a controlled and stable descent. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft centered on the runway. The touchdown distance of 455 m was within the acceptable range, and the total landing distance of 924 m, which accounted for 47% of the runway length, was also satisfactory.
The rollout phase was marked by very good alignment, with the aircraft maintaining its centerline position throughout. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 14 °C and a light wind of 5 kt at 59°, contributed to a stable and predictable landing environment. Overall, the landing was scored 99.8%, reflecting the high level of proficiency demonstrated by the pilot in executing a safe and controlled landing on runway 12 at EGFF Cardiff International Airport.
