MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,180 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 606 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 04 at Geneva Cointrin International Airport (LSGG). The takeoff distance was 1,238 meters, which is 35% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 152 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 3°C, with a wind speed of 2 knots at 0°. There was a slight crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 1 knot. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Ferney-Voltaire in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region of France. The climb took 16 minutes and covered a distance of 86 nautical miles, with the aircraft ascending from 2,364 feet above sea level to 31,333 feet above sea level, an increase of 28,969 feet.
After reaching the cruising altitude, the aircraft entered a level cruise, starting 3 miles south east of Colle Sestriere in the Piemonte region of Italy. This phase of the flight lasted 16 minutes and covered a distance of 119 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 45 miles south east of Antibes in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region of France. The descent took 21 minutes and covered a distance of 82 nautical miles, with the aircraft descending from 31,203 feet above sea level to 1,298 feet above sea level, a decrease of 29,905 feet.
The final approach to runway 02 at Ajaccio-Napoléon Bonaparte Airport (LFKJ) was made from the south, with the aircraft heading 25.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,272 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 02, which has a length of 2,180 meters. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 10°C, with a wind speed of 1 knot at 0°. There was a slight headwind of 1 knot.
The touchdown point was 188 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 132 knots, which was considered good. The touchdown rate was fair at -239 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The total landing distance was 1,406 meters, which is 64% of the runway length.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking, which took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 295 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 63 minutes. The aircraft used 3,094 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at LFKJ Ajaccio-Napoléon Bonaparte Airport, achieving a high score of 96.6%. The final approach to runway 02 was conducted from the south, with a heading of 25.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,272 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 144 knots. The touchdown point was located 188 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. The touchdown speed of 132 knots was within the acceptable range, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
However, the touchdown rate of -239 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, suggesting that the aircraft may have experienced a slightly higher-than-desired rate of descent during the final stages of the approach. Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was well-aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 10°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from a direction of 0°. There was no crosswind component, and the aircraft experienced a slight headwind of 1 knot. These conditions likely contributed to the smooth and controlled nature of the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,406 meters was 64% of the available runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the aircraft was well-controlled and aligned with the runway centerline during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was a success, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating a high level of proficiency in terms of speed, alignment, and control.
