MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,707 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,707 m of the 3,189 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 746 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at BKPR Priština Adem Jashari International Airport, taking approximately 3 minutes to cover less than 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 17, with the aircraft lifting off after a takeoff distance of 1,470 meters, which accounted for 59% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 152 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time were characterized by a temperature of 7°C, a wind speed of 2 knots at 170°, with a crosswind of 0 knots and a headwind of 2 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of Priština, it began its enroute climb, which started 1 mile south of the airport and continued for 17 minutes, covering a distance of 103 nautical miles. The aircraft climbed from an initial altitude of 2,809 feet above sea level to a maximum altitude of 29,887 feet, an increase of 27,079 feet. The enroute level cruise phase began 2 miles east of Visegrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and lasted for 67 minutes, covering a distance of 552 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent, which started overhead Schwallungen, Germany. The descent phase lasted for 19 minutes, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 29,594 feet to 1,329 feet, a decrease of 28,266 feet. The aircraft covered a distance of 108 nautical miles during this phase. The final approach to runway 27R at EDDV Hannover Airport was made from the east, with the aircraft heading 273.0° at an altitude of 1,149 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing on runway 27R was successful, with the aircraft touching down 324 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 132 knots, which was good, and the touchdown rate was excellent at -76 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.9 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 9°C, a wind speed of 4 knots at 190°, with a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 1,621 meters, which accounted for 51% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 9.2 meters from the centerline. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking approximately 5 minutes to cover a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 771 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 113 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 5,043 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at EDDV Hannover Airport, achieving a score of 90.8%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the east, heading 273.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,149 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 27R, which has a length of 3,189 meters.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 324 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a speed of 132 knots, which was within the target range. The touchdown rate was excellent, at -76 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the threshold height at 65 feet agl was above the target, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 142 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 9°C, with a wind speed of 4 knots from 190°. This resulted in a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 1 knot. Despite these conditions, the aircraft maintained a stable approach and landing.
One area for improvement was the runway touchdown position, which was slightly misaligned by 3.9 meters from the centerline. Additionally, the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 9.2 meters from the centerline. However, these deviations were relatively minor and did not significantly impact the overall performance of the landing.
Overall, the Airbus A320 demonstrated a high level of proficiency in landing at EDDV Hannover Airport, with a score of 90.8%. The aircraft's ability to maintain a stable approach and landing, despite the challenging weather conditions, was a testament to the skill and expertise of the pilots involved.
