MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Fly the aircraft onto the runway at the aim point instead of holding it off and letting it float further down the runway.
What happened: This landing touched down well beyond the target point on the runway, with nothing else in the approach or flare accounting for it.
Watch for: Aim point markings: touchdown at the target point on the runway.
Every knot above Vref is stored kinetic energy, and energy stored at the threshold must be dissipated in ground effect before the aeroplane will stop flying. Because kinetic energy scales with the square of speed, the excess you must dissipate grows fast. At a 45-knot approach, five knots hot is over a tenth more speed and roughly a quarter more energy to get rid of in ground effect. This is why the fix is never in the flare. It was decided three miles earlier, on final, at the airspeed indicator.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,704 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,704 ft of the 11,973 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,113 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 777F taxied from the parking area to runway 07C at Hong Kong International Airport, a movement that lasted 7 minutes and covered 1 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 07C, the aircraft accelerated to a rotation speed of 166 kt and lifted off after using 4,970 ft, which represented 42 % of the runway length; ambient temperature was 87 °F with a wind of 6 kt from 060°, providing a 6 kt headwind and a 1 kt cross-wind component.
Climb commenced 1 mile northeast of VHHH, with the airplane ascending from 979 ft asl to 27,913 ft asl, a gain of 26,934 ft achieved in 18 minutes while covering 116 nm.
The first cruise segment began 72 miles south of ZGSD Zhuhai Jinwan Airport and continued for 451 minutes, during which the aircraft traversed 3,733 nm at level flight.
Descent started 44 miles east of Al Khawr, Qatar, with the aircraft descending from 27,997 ft asl to 2,723 ft asl, a loss of 25,275 ft in 17 minutes over a distance of 100 nm.
A subsequent cruise phase was initiated 7 miles southeast of Al Hadd, Bahrain, lasting 3 minutes and covering 12 nm.
The next descent began 2 miles north of Sitrah, Bahrain, where altitude fell from 2,605 ft asl to 1,491 ft asl, a reduction of 1,114 ft in 2 minutes across 5 nm.
A further cruise segment started 4 miles east of Sitrah, lasting 4 minutes and encompassing 10 nm.
Final approach to runway 30R at Bahrain International Airport involved a descent from 1,245 ft agl to 58 ft agl in 100 seconds, with the aircraft meeting the stabilisation gates criteria.
Landing on runway 30R, which is 11,973 ft long, was executed with a threshold speed of 133 kt (slightly below target) and a touchdown speed of 127 kt; the touchdown point was 728 ft beyond the touchdown zone, the vertical speed at touchdown was minus 172 fpm, and runway alignment was perfect.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 5,426 ft, representing 45 % of the runway, and the aircraft maintained perfect alignment throughout the deceleration phase.
Taxi-in to the parking area from the runway required 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 3,984 nm, required 505 minutes of elapsed time, and consumed 162,730 lb of fuel.
