MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,843 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,843 m of the 3,072 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 521 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 06L at LTFJ Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,010 meters, which accounted for 34% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 154 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 31 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 21 knots at a direction of 50 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 5 knots and a headwind of 21 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile northeast of LTFJ Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport Pendik. The climb took 24 minutes and covered a distance of 165 nautical miles, with the aircraft ascending from 1,313 feet above sea level to 36,179 feet above sea level, an increase of 34,866 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 12 miles north of Senirkent in Isparta, Turkey. This phase lasted for 75 minutes and covered a distance of 551 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 25 miles southeast of HE45 Ras Sedr Airport in Ras Sedr, Egypt. The descent took 25 minutes and covered a distance of 98 nautical miles, with the aircraft descending from 36,636 feet above sea level to 3,155 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,481 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 21 miles west of Sharm el-Sheikh in South Sinai Governorate, Egypt. This phase lasted for 11 minutes and covered a distance of 22 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 04R at HESH Sharm El Sheikh International Airport was made from the southwest, with the aircraft heading at 43.0 degrees at an altitude of 4 nautical miles and 1,357 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 04R was successful, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 140 knots, which was slightly faster than the target speed. The touchdown point was 112 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown rate was fair at -275 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 9.9 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 36 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 10 knots at a direction of 340 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 5 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,769 meters, which accounted for 58% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 16.6 meters from the centerline. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 848 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 148 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 6,607 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at HESH Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, with a final approach score of 91.2%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the southwest, heading 43.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,357 feet above ground level (agl). The landing was conducted on runway 04R, which has a length of 3,072 meters.
The threshold height at 59 feet agl was slightly above the target, indicating a minor deviation in the aircraft's descent. However, the threshold speed was good at 141 knots, suggesting that the pilot maintained a suitable speed for landing. The touchdown point was 112 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight over-shooting of the intended landing spot.
The touchdown speed of 140 knots was a little fast, which could have contributed to the over-shooting. The touchdown rate of -275 feet per minute (fpm) was fair, indicating a relatively smooth landing. However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 9.9 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's alignment during the final approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 36°C and a wind speed of 10 knots at 340°. The crosswind component was 9 knots, while the headwind component was 5 knots. These conditions may have affected the aircraft's performance during the landing.
The total landing distance was 1,769 meters, which is 58% of the runway length. This indicates that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance after touchdown. However, the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 16.6 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's alignment during the rollout.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor deviations in the aircraft's performance. The pilot's skills and experience were likely sufficient to handle the conditions, but there may be opportunities for improvement in terms of alignment and touchdown speed.
