Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,920 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,920 m of the 3,411 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 442 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 23 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 05 at Tokyo Haneda International Airport (RJTT). The takeoff distance was 2,397 meters, which was 96% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 176 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 9 knots at 79 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 6 knots and a headwind of 7 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 3 miles southeast of the Tokyo VOR (SB16), and climbed from an altitude of 1,032 feet above sea level to 33,540 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,508 feet, in 27 minutes and covering a distance of 179 nautical miles.
The enroute climb phase was followed by a level cruise, which started at a latitude of 33.4474854 and a longitude of 142.4300006. This phase lasted for 323 minutes and covered a distance of 1,657 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 2 miles west of San Nicolas in the Philippines. The descent from 34,790 feet above sea level to 3,042 feet above sea level, a decrease of 31,749 feet, took 15 minutes and covered a distance of 25 nautical miles.
The enroute descent phase was followed by a brief level cruise, which started 2 miles west of Naic in the Philippines and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 9 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting overhead Noveleta in the Philippines. The descent from 2,929 feet above sea level to 1,289 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,641 feet, took 2 minutes and covered a distance of 5 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 06 at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (RPLL) was made from the southwest, heading 60.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,242 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 06 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 444 meters, which was good. The touchdown speed was 136 knots, and the touchdown rate was fair at -298 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.2 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 31 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 9 knots at 137 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 2 knots. The total landing distance was 1,846 meters, which was 54% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 1,888 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 393 minutes. The aircraft used 19,301 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at RPLL Ninoy Aquino International Airport, achieving a high score of 96.5%. The final approach to runway 06 was conducted from the southwest, with a heading of 60.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,242 feet above ground level.
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 145 knots. The touchdown distance of 444 meters was within acceptable limits, and the touchdown speed of 136 knots was also good. However, the touchdown rate of -298 feet per minute was only fair, indicating that the aircraft may have experienced a slightly higher rate of descent than desired.
Despite a slight misalignment of 3.2 meters from the centerline, the runway touchdown position was generally good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 31°C and a wind speed of 9 knots from a direction of 137°. The crosswind component was 9 knots, while the headwind component was 2 knots.
The total landing distance of 1,846 meters was 54% of the available runway length, which is a relatively short distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain a stable and controlled path after touchdown. Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating good control and stability throughout the approach and touchdown phases.
