Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 13,187 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,735 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft, type C750, began its journey taxiing from the parking bay to the runway at VVDN Da Nang International Airport, taking around 7 minutes to cover the 4 nm distance. After clearing the runway, the departure roll started at runway 35L. The aircraft achieved a takeoff distance of 3,272 ft, which was 33% of the available runway length, and reached a liftoff speed of 153 kt.
As the aircraft climbed out of Da Nang, it encountered a local temperature of 84°F and began its enroute climb from 1,059 ft asl to 44,070 ft asl, covering an altitude increase of 43,011 ft in 16 minutes and a distance of 112 nm. The aircraft then entered its first enroute level cruise, 10 miles south west of VLSV Saravane Airport in Saravane, Laos, and lasted for 23 minutes, covering 201 nm.
The aircraft then started its enroute descent, 14 miles south west of Buri Ram in Thailand, and descended from 44,557 ft asl to 3,985 ft asl, a decrease of 40,571 ft in 20 minutes and a distance of 120 nm. Shortly after, the aircraft entered another enroute level cruise, this time 1 mile south of VTV6 Ongkarak in Thailand, lasting for 2 minutes and covering 6 nm.
The descent continued, with the aircraft starting its descent 5 miles south west of VTV0 Nakhon Nayok Thanawana in Thailand, and decreased from 4,104 ft asl to 2,647 ft asl, a reduction of 1,458 ft in 2 minutes and a distance of 5 nm. After the descent, the aircraft entered its final enroute level cruise, 3 miles east of Ban Lam Luk Ka in Thailand, and lasted for 5 minutes, covering 13 nm.
As the aircraft approached VTBS Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand, it executed a final approach to runway 19L coming from the north, with a heading of 195.0° at 4 nm and an altitude of 1,252 ft agl. The landing took place on runway 19L, with a length of 13,187 ft, and a threshold height of 59 ft agl, slightly above the target. The threshold speed was good at 116 kt, but the touchdown point was 337 ft beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was a little fast at 112 kt. However, the touchdown rate was good at -174 fpm, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 19 ft from the centreline.
Local weather conditions during the landing were characterized by a temperature of 84°F, a wind speed of 16 kt at 200°, 2 kt of crosswind, and 16 kt of headwind. The aircraft landed with a total distance of 2,891 ft, which was 22% of the available runway length. After the landing, the aircraft had a smooth runway rollout alignment.
The journey ended with the aircraft taxiing to the parking bay, taking 10 minutes and covering 2 nm. The total flight distance was 469 nm, taking 88 minutes, and the aircraft used 2,233 lbs of fuel throughout the journey.
Aircraft C750 successfully landed at VTBS Suvarnabhumi Airport on runway 19L with a score of 96.3%. The final approach to the runway was made from the north, heading 195.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,252 feet above ground level (agl).
On touchdown, the aircraft's speed of 112 knots was slightly above the target speed, indicating that the pilot could have applied the brakes a bit sooner. However, the touchdown rate of -174 feet per minute (fpm) was good, indicating a controlled descent. The touchdown point was 337 feet beyond the touchdown zone, which, combined with the slightly high speed, might have contributed to this deviation.
A critical aspect of the landing was the runway alignment. Although the pilot misaligned the touchdown position by 19 feet from the centreline, the runway rollout alignment was excellent, suggesting precise control of the aircraft during the rollout.
Weather conditions played a crucial role in the landing. The local temperature was 84 °F (29 °C), and the wind speed was 16 knots from a direction of 200 °. This resulted in a 2-knot crosswind and a 16-knot headwind, which could have influenced the pilot's decision-making during the approach and landing stages. Given the prevailing conditions, the pilot executed the landing successfully, demonstrating a high level of proficiency.
It is essential to note that the total landing distance was 2,891 feet, accounting for only 22% of the runway length. A shorter landing distance is typically preferred to ensure safe stoppage within the remaining runway length, especially during emergency situations.
